While cleaning up my shop, all the geckos seem to have frozen.

Don't understand how such a tiny lizard can excret so much crap.

Got them here in central Texas also. Tiny lizzard, buzzard size turd. Apparently when I built the new gun room/shop, I created the perfect gecko enviroment. Need to try to house break the little bastards.

Have small ones in west Texas, 2 inch body and they stay outside. How big do yours get?

West TX geckos are 2-4", but I hardly ever catch one in the opening. They're fast little dudes.

My poodle loved to smash them with her snout on the wall outside. She'd run out of the house straight to the wall everyday to hunt them. I miss my friend.

I know they can't climb tile, fish them out of the pool every so often.

So for the good news about geckos and most reptiles is, they don't share disease vectors with mammals; so you can't catch anything from them or their droppings. Geckos are insect destroyers, so if you have geckos your roach and silverfish populations should be minimal. The few I've seen here in Northern Alabama are silent whereas the ones I encountered in Okinawa were singers at night.

Two we've encountered - the one in the plastic tub my wife found on the tile of our kitchen floor one Saturday morning. Coyote Peterson says the venom from these is the most painful.
