USPS - Near Unlimited Capacity For Fail

Going on two weeks now waiting on a new debit card, after losing old one. Bank emailed it all the long way from... the other side of my state.

Why this abomination of a "service" (word used very loosely) is allowed to continue in this state of abject dis-service I do not understand. In the last year the USPS has not failed once... to completely fail me.

I know I've told this story before, but once I worked for a major defense contractor, selling parts to the military. The US military would accept shipment, by ANY commercial carrier, but absolutely would not allow shipment under contract to them by USPS. That ought to disabuse any one of the notion that these clowns ought to be allowed to operate in the condition they are in.

That &*#$&U%$(@# pile of looseleaf crap ads show up in my mailbox like f%$#* clockwork though.

President #44 brought up the failings of the USPS.
#45, and the Post Master tried to do something about it, but was shut down because it was thought they were shutting down mail in ballots.

If you have a gripe, call or write to the Democratic's and ask why it hasn't been improved upon yet.

P.S. if you're counting the insulting avalanche of absolute garbage (looseleaf f'n crap) that is handed to you pre-sorted and pre-bundled for delivery at the nearest point of access to said delivery as part of your 99.9% success rate, then you are peeing on me from a nearly orbital height.

I have had no problems with the Priority boxes. On time or a day early. Now a simple business envelope, like trying to shoot a my lion in NYC, little luck. I get mail from all over my area of town, got tired of delivering it. Gave a batch to the blonde bimbo responsible and wrote on each envelope, Delivered wrong by USPS. She knocked on my door and threatened me. When I was done with the Post Master she was removed from home delivery. We now have rotating carriers, problem continues. What a joke. Talked to Post Master again yesterday after having spoken to several neighbors. Post Master said we are getting complaints every day from your route. I suggested they fire the carriers boss and replace him with a live, functioning, intelligent new boss. It got real quite. Finally a soft reply , I will try to do better. Ha, I doubt. My number and name is on the box. Maybe its a result of our education system. Hmmmmmmmmm.....

It's called accountability, or lack thereof. The USPS has a government granted monopoly, and therefore zero need to actually do their job. When UPS, FedEX, DHL, etc... fail, they lose business, and boards of directors demand change. When USPS fails, you suck it up, and crab about it on an internet forum, then bend over and take it next time you are forced to submit to their incompetence.

I've filed multiple complaints using their official, online "customer service (BWAHAHAHA!!!)" form. None have yet to be so much as acknowledged, let alone acted on.

We had a great mailman, an avid hunter, for about 18 years. He retired and it's gone from poor, to bad, to ridiculous. A great example of government incompetence. Our federal legislature folks are too busy lining their and their relatives pockets while sending billions overseas, and receiving their various kickback, instead of managing the mess our government has become. Yet we the idiots keep voting them back into office term after term. See, doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different result reveals a complete lack of any intelligence. Ok rant over. Went to a match today , it was 14 degrees. Good turn out, a good time.

I’m an old man and have mailed and received thousands of letters and packages and other than a long bow that traveled around the state for two weeks ( It did eventually arrive in fine shape) cause the sender had the correct zip but wrong city I’ve never lost anything.

Since the Bank "EMAILED" it all the long way from... the other side of my state, maybe you should check your spam folder. o_O Otherwise, call the bank and have them email you another via one of the other common commercial carriers that NEVER EVER EVER have problems.

Eh, you're right, I mis-typed email instead of mail. Therefore I retract the whole thing, and apologize to our unaccountable USPS overlords.

If all those other common carriers NEVER EVER EVER have problems then why does the US government, INSIST that you use absolutely any of them instead of the USPS when shipping them important things?

I'm in Converse Texas, just got my package from McCalla Alabama
yesterday. It was mailed January 25th!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't going to chime in, but, what the heck.

back in my very early engineering days i did a proof of concept point of sale terminal job for the san bruno regional p.o. because of this i had access to the big sorting area in the facility. back then the zip codes were keyed in by hand, 1 per second, as the operators sat stupefied in front of a conveyor belt fed sorter. in order for this to work, the mail had to be properly oriented of course. and the point of my story is the orientation machine.

the stamps had a phosphor i was told, that the machine sensed, and as the mail shook down from a hopper and flew down the raceway, gates flipped the article around one axis at a time until the mail was all upright and facing forward. Very impressive, UNTIL it WASN't. when the machine jammed there was a fountain of mail shooting everywhere, some ripped up and some still intact. and the belt stopped.

the designated operator trundled over, scooped up the mail by hand and threw it into a tub for later hand disposition.

now, back to now.

i mailed a 'first class' letter from AL to MD. placed in mailbox at p.o. 02/03. was just delivered yesterday 02/20. first class? my ...

Got one better than any of you.
Mailed Medium Flat rate box to my youngest daughter MN from out local PO.
Went from here to SF distribution center, then cross country to Minn/St Paul.
THEN back to SF.
THEN back to St Paul.
THEN back to SF.
THEN back to Minn/St Paul.
After I took the tracking list down to the PO and asked for a translation, I also asked if I got "Frequent Flyer Miles"? All the Post Master could do was scratch his head. (good young man by the way ;))
He put a tracer on the package and it FINALLY got stopped at the St Paul dist. center. Four days later, it was finally delivered.
Two and 1/2 weeks and lots of air miles!!
Daughter remarked that package had been "back and forth between SF and St Paul more than she had". Still don't know what actually happened and will probably never know. All I can be thankful for is that it wasn't a time sensitive document.

Was doing some paperwork when dealing with my sister finances. Looking for the local Power Co. Office. Stopped one of the local Mail Carriers. Where is the office?
NO SPREAK ENGRISH!! (????) Come to find out she ONLY knew her route and nothing else. Turns out the office I was looking for was the next block over.:(:(

I shipped a barrel to Washington it took 21 days from Ky. shipped a scope 175 miles up the road took 13 days

Just send your mail UPS.
