Midway bullet price increase??

I was on midway and looked for 69 gr smk. The 500 ct box which was around a hundred and change, is now 153.00. Seems a little dramatic.

Yeah, 30-50% increases haven’t been uncommon there and I don’t know that it’s due to price increases from their suppliers. I had the “birthday pricing”, which I believe is a simple cost-plus pricing on a lot of items, and the discounts were pretty significant. For example, a bullet they’re showing for nearly 60 cents each I paid roughly 32 cents for, which would have been about a 10% discount on their previous prices. What kills it more are their quantity limits though. Hard to stomach paying $10-$15 in shipping on two 100 count boxes of bullets that are already 50% higher than they were a month ago.

If people are willing to pay it then more power to them I guess.

Our local Walmart carries RCBS reloading equipment and they recently received a small shipment. One of the things was a 6mm Creedmoor standard full length 2 die set. It wasn't in the correct place on the shelf so I scanned the barcode with their app on my phone and it came up $96.00.
Midway isn't the only place adjusting prices.

Noticed same thing at midsouth on Berger match bullets vs price from McGee competitions. Not just a little difference, about 25% higher. Wonder why such a large difference?

It is out of the norm for Mid-South to raise prices during a shortage. They have never done that before. Its the time of the yr for reg price increases, but 25 and 50% WOW. LDS

Manufacturers have increased prices three times to the distributors in the last three months.

Tie a knot and hang on!
While that’s certainly some of it, I’m not convinced that’s what’s driving a bulk of it. There’s too much disparity between vendor prices for it to be entirely manufacturer increases. A few bucks here and there is understandable, but differences upwards of 50% between vendors (on 500-1000ct boxes) isn’t manufacturer pricing.

Why should they not raise their prices when people are buying 20x what they need just to flip on Gunbroker or forums? I thought the majority of us gun people were conservative capitalists? Is that only when it suits us?

Let them raise their prices. I hope they jack primers up to $200-$300 a box and fast. The sooner the scalpers can't scalp, the sooner we'll be back to a semblance of normalcy. But when people can make 5x their money on 1 primer order or 2-3x on bullets.. we'll never see stuff on the shelves.

BTW.. when these large companies post primer stock.. they're getting over a million hits trying to buy them. Sure some of that is bots and people running multiple browsers.. but that's how profitable it is.

Raise prices. Let's get this over with.

When you think about it, if I could buy $100,000 worth of primers and sell them in a day or two for $200,000.00 its no wonder some bigger money isnt involved. I to would like to see the suppliers like Graf,Midway, PV ect raise their prices until sales slowed. But I wonder what quantity of components are out there with so much going to factory loads.

First, nobody said anything about hating capitalism. Second, raising prices will do absolutely nothing to curb the buying and reselling.
