NRA Sanctioning Question

Hi All - folks who know more about sponsoring NRA tournaments than I do...If I am trying to submit a match for approval where we will be shooting a midrange course of fire (300/500/600 yards, 20 rounds slow fire) and multiple discipline (F-Open/F-TR, Sling, AR Tactical, etc), do I just register that as one match under the discipline Midrange Prone, or do I register multiple matches on the same date? Also, under distance, I only see 300, 500, or 600. I don't see an option for combined distances.

Sorry if I am missing anything obvious. I am used to registering Smallbore F-Class matches, but this is my first time registering Midrange Prone matches.

Thanks!

There is not an option for combined distances. You must list each match. Just keep clicking the "add a match" button until all distances in one tournament are added. For instance, you may shoot at 600 yards twice, but you will only add it once. The tournament program should list all of the separate matches and the order that they will be fired. I don't have 2021 programs up on our website yet, but last years are still there, take a look if you need help or save one and modify it for your needs and club. There are two that are for high power and two that are for long range. www.capitanhipower.com

Thanks Bill! That's helpful. That makes sense on adding matches for the distances. The only other question, then, is if we have multiple disciplines sharing the line, do I register them as separate tournaments as well? For example High Power (Palma Rifle or Any/Any) and F-Class...?

No, your program will cover what all disciplines and rifles are allowed. For instance, our long range league has mostly F Class, but sling shooters can also shoot the matches. We cover rifles, and rifle rules in the program.

Perfect. When I submit scores, do I specify the discipline? Do F-Class scores count toward F-Class classifications and sling scores count toward sling classifications?

Yes, F-Class scores count toward F-Class classification and the percentage brackets are higher for F-Class, I believe. Even if they were not higher, at some point, the NRA does distinguish between F-Class and other forms of Highpower, so you’d always want to specify F-Class on your score reports. The classification card will specifically say “F-Class”. There is no distinction drawn between TR and Open though, at the NRA, on classification and cards issued.

f-class brackets are .5% LOWER because the target is considerably smaller

tactical brackets are still the same as sling which is ridiculously low for tactical on the same target as sling

eta - f-class classification is lower in high-power
in smallbore, f-class classification is higher than metric prone(sling) on the same target

Thanks again! Yes, I am familiar with the classifications for F-Class, as I currently hold a Master card in Midrange F-Class. My question was more because the F-Class matches I have been shooting to date have been exclusively F-Class Matches, so I wasn't sure how score submission works when more than one discipline is shooting the same match. I think you've answered my questions. Much appreciated!
