Rifle Chassis Survey

For PRS

Arca rail Intergral to the stock

Mirage shield for the barrel and thumb over barrel technique

Alot of room for bipod positioning on the chassis front end like about 16inches worth.

Adjustable buttstock in every way possible and ability to install weights in the buttstock

Buttstock needs to be online with the bore as well to help with recoil

1.200 no taper barrels

MLOK for additional weights

Ability to install MDT/Ergo/MPA/XLR grips vertical grip

Additionally

A way to bed action to the stock so you dont get that ping.

My thought is have the action area relieved for a good amount bedding compound. And then have raised points under the torque screws to torque the action against but that will let compound flow around and maintain a even thickness.

If you use my all input all I want is free stock, thanks.

*also adjustable mag latch to tune mag hieght to assist in feeding and not have to bend feed lips.

And work with AW mags

And chassis has to protect the mags from getting undo pressure from a barricade.

Large mag release lever.

I would want the option to not have to bed the action but with some way to 'tension' the action to the chassis.

In other words, buy a MDT/MPA/XLR chassis. haha

Falcon 46

I would like one shaped like a Bravo, in the Bravo price range inletted for a Remington 783. But I guess market demand has already proven that to be a pipe dream.

Problem with those chassis the grips are made for each gun but ergo has a number of great grips along with some other manufactures.

Maybe by using AR15 grips with a beaver tail intergrated into the chassis it might be a better atlernative. That way the end user can swap grips to match preference.

Also a folder to capture the bolt.

My XLR can fit any grip compatible with the AR platform, including beavertail ergos and other chassis manufacturer grips. But, the beaver tail is not integrated. I do have a folding stock.

XLR chassis need the beaver tail cut off when installing those types of grip.

What does it matter what your XLR has, he is trying to make a new chassis to bring I to the market place. No one cares about your chassis option he is asking for customer input on features.

@eric32, I'm in the process of finalizing the design now and don't want to let the cat out of the bag yet, but it is a radically different design. I'm planning to have it ready to unveil in a month or two.

Thanks to everyone that responded to the survey! The general trends are that accuracy is the most important factor in choosing a chassis followed by ergonomics/adjustability. The data also shows that the majority of shooters either prefer a heavier chassis or don't have a preference about weight. About 74% use a R700 or R700 clone action, most of those are short actions.

Still interested, also getting the action to sit the lowest position possible in the chassis

Still working on finding a manufacturer who is interested in helping with prototype work at a low enough cost, so in the short term I'm having an insert made that can be placed in a wood stock to prove out if the design increases accuracy as expected. If everything pans out, I'll have results in about a month and can share more about the design.
