Harrell's Press

Can the Harrell's compact reloading press in the PPC and 308 size be used to seat bullets as well as resize cases? The web site mentions that Mag size will seat bullets but it does not say that for the others.

I’ve used it to seat bullets for the PPC at the range.

I have had both the PPC/BR size press and the 308 size press and I would go with the 308 mid size press for the added clearance to seat bullets. I actually sold the small press and just use the 308 size press just because it can do it all when you are dealing with PPC/BR cases. Just my 2 cents.

Called Harrell's and the answer is yes.
The only restriction is the length of the case and bullet you plan on loading.
Spoke to a very nice gentleman who answered all of my questions.

I resize ppc brass all the time on his press.

I usually have a pair on my loading table- both the ppc size- and they size ppc or seat 68gr bullets no problem

Lyman dies won’t thread into my Harrell’s turret press.

Lyman dies won’t thread into my Harrell’s turret press.

Will other dies thread in, or just the Lyman?? I have 2 Harrel Turret presses and (4) 4 hole tops. I have trouble seeing a problem with the press. Harrel's make to many accurate pieces of equipment and dies...

Heard the same complaint about some higher end European presses (this is anecdotal - I can't afford one of those.) I think the consensus was that the more precise machining was causing the threads to not mesh with the less precise dies (perhaps the height of the threads in the press?)

I bought the Harrells .308 Sized C press so I could load .308 or shorter cases on it. No problem bullet seating for .308s in it. Also, no problem with my Whidden Dies in it.

I use my Harrell's combo press a lot. Sizing.die in the threaded die size and Wilson in line seater in the arbor press side. Does a.great job on bench rest size cartridges.
