Quality of CA receiver's?

Hi, all. I have been looking at the lesser expensive Christensen Arms rifles because if the receiver's are decent quality I feel that the rifles are a good deal. I have heard varying opinions about the barrels both steel and carbon, but if the receivers are decent I don't care because I will just shoot the barrel out eventually and have a new one put on.

So anyone know if the CA receivers are half way decent?

Thanks,
Jason

I have a Ridgeline and I couldnt get the windage zeroed. Swarovski Z6. Tried different scopes and mounts gun was shooting 13 moa to the right. Sent it back and they had it 2 months. Came back with a different receiver and now it shoots 14 moa to the left. with the scope adjusted all the way to the right gun shoots 1.5" left. They said my scope doesnt have enough travel. Put US optics windage adjustable rings on it to zero my scope.
Also action is not very smooth and has no primary extraction

Just to update this thread, people seem to think CA has gone through some changes and they are making their actions in house now, whereas, in the past they were outsourced from different places. The feeling seems to be that the newer rifles are better than the older ones.

I realize your post is several years old. But your issues are the same as mine. I have the ELR 338,getting it to zero has been impossible, plus the chamber may be to tight, need to almost use a rubber malet, male, let it cool first. And the bolt slide movement is terrible. Anyway did you ever get it to zero, where there other issues similar? CA. is offering to return it for "evaluation "

I hate yall have had troubles. I have had nothing but good luck from them- from back when they used 700 actions til now making their own. I usually put dual dovetail leupold or talley lightweights on em so no windage adjustment and theyre always within a few clicks of perfect.

I have the US optics rings (which i think are discontinued)that allow you to adjust windage, so even with the out of alignment receiver, my reticle is centered. I have changed to a NX8 on that gun though.
Mine has a tight neck even starting loads caused heavy bolt lift, so I turn the necks. I would send it back and let them have another go at it. Just don't get your hopes up, don't expect any communication, and don't expect it to be back in less than 2 months.

Are you talking about their factory stocks? I'm pretty sure they make them. I have a take off from my ridgeline i would part with if you're interested.

One of the happiest days ever was the day I sold my Christensen Arms. It would shoot sub half inch groups then 1 foot groups - and you never knew when it would do it. They took it back and gave me a new rifle. Then it was feeding issues, extraction issues, and the same grouping issues. I must have sent those rifles back to them so many times they knew how to get there on their own.

Thank you for the reply. We are are at the stage of CS. person will contact me again with information as to where to send it. Funny thing in the email they indicated it would go to approved service provider which would come from separate persons other than CA. I personally feel there is a chamber problem, and the picatiney rail, which is machined into top of gun, is off. It is not a screw on type base. Hopefully this will be resolved before February 2021,as I will need it for intended use. I'll keep you posted

unny thing is its app

The two that I have been aroubd are recent production. No issues with sighting in even with nonadjustable rings and bases. Both are very accurate shooting factory ammo. 1 is a 7mag and the other is a 300WMag. The actions cycle extremely smooth. The stocks are very nice in the hand. I have never got behind one to shoot but I found one for sale on another forum and bought it. Should have it by next week.
