Walmart guns & ammo, ... again

To me this would only mean one of two things, someone in accounting finally was able to tell someone further up the chain to pull their head out of their backside, that firearms and ammo are a much bigger piece of their sales or that they had more firearms/ammo stock in their warehouses than they thought.

Then again the price of guns and ammo has really jumped again just like it always does during elections. I mean come on, $50+ for .380? It also shows that dollar signs mean more to them than their leftest ideas. Gee, what a shock that is.

Not exactly. Walmart is still selling guns and ammo. They took it off display in certain areas so rioters couldnt get to it easy during a looting situation. So if you were to walk into a walmart in philly or the like, youll have to ask them for your ammo. The way they talked if your local walmart does this you live in a bad area. Alarm over now the guns and ammo is back

I happen to live a rural area of Oregon and just to make sure i had it right before i wrote this, i went this morning and checked to make sure it was empty here at wally world and as of this afternoon it still is. If this is a rioting area it would be all us rednecks rioting FOR Trump not against.

And since some Americans tend to be quite until you piss them off, we'll just wait and see what Tuesday brings.

Zilla, i happen for the most part to agree with that. But some of us live in rural or very rural areas that wally world barged into and don't have anything else to go to. Some of our ranching/farming family's drive 80 miles each way to have a place to shop. To shop someplace else means another 50 miles each way on top of that 80 miles they started with.

No we don't like walmart, but it's what we have. To be blunt, we hate walmart but for some of us it's a job and food on their tables. When walmart leaves we will go back to our mom & pop stores and not be stuck with a giant that could care less about anything other than sucking every dollar out of our community they can with garbage from china.

Here on Long Island, no Walmart has sold guns for years and now most have eliminated ammo and even other Gun Related products.

While I don't care for Walmart's policies, I still shop there. It helps make ends meet in these high priced times and who are you really hurting by not shopping there, the company, I don't think so? Many people are barely making enough to survive in these times. Being able to buy goods at somewhat reasonable prices is critical.

How about the people that work there? If a large volume of customers don't shop there, what is going to happen to the workers? Many are there because this was all that was available to them.

The company will be fine, they will just eliminate stores in areas where the sales are not as good, and most likely reduce their workforce. The ones that get hurt are the customers and the workers.

As for selling of ammo and firearms, we live close to Seattle. Next up in line to Portland for stupid people who want to change the world and think they will be a part of the new world order. It is hard to say what the reason is for a particular store removing these items from their shelf.

@bluealtered did you by any chance ask anyone there why they had removed the items?

Not greatly fond of wally-world since the old man died , and the greedy conniving bitch took over and sold out to China to boost her profit margin with schlock junk . But they are a mile and a half away , and they do have a great price and stock of Lemmi - Shine . So I bite the bullet and go there for it , and cheaper bottles of Sea Foam . But not much else outta there .

Agree, Walmart is not at all one of my favorite stores but since they have taken over the shopping world it's where we go. I'd be far more appreciative of the small businesses that we used to have and seeing more "made in USA" labels on the products.

I don’t shop WalMart much but I was in Mitchell SD last week, and the WM had lots of pheasant loads in stock. They also had a selection of the usual Remington / Mossberg / Ruger long guns and various Smith / Taurus / Ruger hand guns on display.

Zero guns or ammo on display at the local walmart here in NC. No person at the counter to ask anything. I don't think Sam would be pleased.

If Walmart was the only place on earth that had guns for sale I would NOT buy a gun from them

Right now in Colorado Walmart is putting all their guns on sale. I just bought 2 Remington 700's in 7 Mag for $331.00 each. This is the ADL with a 3X9 Trasco scope. And a Polyurinated Crapaloy stock.

Over 10 years back I was in Walmart to pick something up that was hard to source elsewhere walked by the magazine stand to pick up Shotgun News. Shotgun News would not scan at the checkout and the young lady entered the number directly into the register and it still did not ring up. A manager was close by so the young lady called him over, of course he tried scanning it and entering the number, the clerk explained that she had done that already, why else would she have called him over.

The all-knowing manager told me "We don't sell this magazine!", I asked him if it was normal practice to put stuff on the shelf that you don't sell? I said since you don't sell it some customer must have left a stack in the magazine rack and I should just be able to walk out with this. Since you don't sell it can't be shoplifting. Since he had dug himself a hole saying they did not sell an item that clearly came off the shelf, he said "Take it with you!" and walked me out.

Typical Snow. I haven't seen a Shotgun News in I can't remember when. Is it still in publication either print or digital?

Our local Walmart....45 miles away still sells guns/ammo/components

Although current selection is limited

I do shop there as a matter of convenience....store selections are limited for me

Most other stores are 2+ hrs away

Papa Charlie, I have in the past and the people who work that and two other departments at the same time could not answer that question. It seems that they are the last ones to know, which simply makes their job even harder. I would bet that they are asked that question at least ten to twenty times a day.

As of 11/4 the selves are still empty, even though there's a very good chance that huge warehouse has them sitting in it. We also should consider that they brought in a whole new management crew and demoted our manager, (a local) guy that everybody liked.
