Muller Works Barrels ?

Has anyone tried one of Dan Muller’s barrels recently? I searched and found some older favorable reviews , but thought I would ask here too. It looks like he was involved with Broughton and Rock Creek before going out on his own.

Yep, the one I have is cut rifled. It is my understanding that some of his barrels are button. Mine is a 224 1-in-12 twist that I made a 223 on a Model Seven action. It will shoot one ragged hole at 100 yards with 50 grain Ballistic Tips and 25.5 grains of Benchmark. The rifle has a Timney trigger and a glass bedded Claro walnut stock. When borescoped it is completely devoid of any flaws at all.
I would not hesitate to use another MullerWorks barrel

Thanks Sir, that’s what I was hoping to hear! The ones I’m looking at are 4 groove cut barrels.

I've got 2 Mullerworks barrels, 6mm, both cut rifled and they're both of great quality. The thing that sets them apart is how easy they clean up. Both barrels exhibit almost no carbon fouling and at times I've doubted myself as to whether I'm cleaning them properly. Throw down some bore paste and nothing...it's like they're resistant to fouling. I'm usually done in 3-4 patches and no other barrel I've run has been like this.

Yeah, I have to say that mine has never fouled, copper or carbon and I did notice that it seems to clean easier than most others.

Dan Muller is both an artist (for real) and a barrel maker of the very highest standards. I have a few of his barrels from before he started doing cut rifled barrels and they are all great barrels. His lapping is maybe the best I have ever seen and I've seen some really well done barrels. I think you can buy a Mullerworks with the utmost confidence. BTW, bugholes.com usually has Mullerworks in stock.

Have 3 here but one I chambered and have never shot.
my 6.5x47 light sporter hunting rig shoots lights out. The 20ppc I am using is shooting plenty good and would do better i am certain if I had different powder choices. Runnijv 2520 because its what I had the most of and was not using.
I would say no worries with them at all.

My one and only complaint is my 6.5 was prolly the roughest external finish I have seen on a bbl blank. It took quite some time to polish out as I dont have a polishing jig. This gripe is for sure no disrespect to how it shoots.
