Have many of you used these in bolt guns? I have read all of the jaz about them being designed for semi autos to stop slam fires but it seems many other brands we commonly buy are also designed for that reason. I was just curious if others here have tried these primers when other primers are not available?

I would say that if your favorite primer isn't available, you would use a comparable primer to make it go bang. Once upon a time, many years ago I used TulAmmo small primers in my BR rifle. Loved them, hoarding
the rest that I have for a special occasion yet to be named.

Scalloper,

I use them in place of Winchester SRP and LRP in my bolt guns. Tested the loads, and didn't have to change a thing.

Both the 34 & 41 were designed for semi-auto, mainly military cartridges, for the main reason of having a heavier primer cup so slam fire and the higher pressures they are loaded with don't pierce. They work very well, like a military version of the Rem 7.5 and 9.5 primer.

The anvil on the CCI #41 & #34 primers are shorter and require more force to set off the primers.
Before ATK took over at Lake City, Remington and Winchester used their standard primers with no modifications to their primers.
