Brownells StCalir shipping sucks UPDATE RECEIVED 9/21/20

Placed an order on 9/2/20 Shipped on 9/3/20 per Fed Ex. Arrived at Fed Ex in my town
on 9/13/20 (Sunday). Tomorrow will be TWO WEEKS. Computer says estimated
deliver is Friday 9/18/20. Called Brownells and absolutely no help and could care
less.

My own experience over many years is that Brownell's tries hard and does as good a job as anybody and much better than most. This is not to condemn their competitors, capitalism works and anybody who stays around as long as Brownell's is doing something right.

In the current circumstances in the gun business and the mail order business there will be issues. I live in the boonies and 2nd day takes 4 days to make the last mile so I don't pay for service I don't get but FedEx once scared me to death by delivering a package 6/10 of a mile and 400 vertical feet from paved road with 3 feet of fresh snow and still snowing. I don't expect and don't get that level of service often. Tracking I have often seen packages either sit in one place or follow absurd routing. So be it, that's life.

It's ON Brownells!
Brownells contracted with FedEx for the least expensive cost which equates to sloooooow delivery times and even though one helluva lot of customers complain about the shipping, Brownells doesn't do a thing about it.
I stopped ordering from Brownells about 5 years ago because of their shipping. Too many small businesses that charge less for what I want and offer Priority Mail. Win/win!
If you want your order quicker, ask for it to be shipped USPS Priority Mail. Oh yeah, Brownells doesn't offer USPS Priority Mail! They've told me that several times.

That's funny right there . I would have listened the first time they said No.

Brownells is just fine , sometimes patience is in order.

FedEx is the bad guy here. It has happened to all of us. Tommy Mc.

What does the Fedex tracking say, I had an order from Brownell's that gave me a tracking number next day but it was not picked up at Brownell's for almost 5 days.

I think all shipping is slow now, I had a package shipped USPS Priority 3 Day took nearly a month, of course a couple of years ago I had a package go on "Spring Break" in California for about 3 weeks , granted neither were from Brownells, but once in the hands of a shipper it's pretty much on the shipper. I guess either drive and personally pick up or try to be patient and wait.

Therein lies one of the problems.

I purchase from Brownell's almost 100% of the time (I just ordered an item from Graf's, but they were up front before clicking on order, to say they are overwhelmed and it would be 10 days to two weeks before shipping). Brownell's, even for EDGE customers with two day shipping, will confirm the order and give you a tracking number way before it ever leaves its warehouse. Then, there is another day before Fed Ex gets it into its system and then one or two more before it moves out of Brownell's area of the country. I learned to order on Monday-Wednesday instead of Thursday to Friday. It avoids added frustration. Once Fed Ex actually moves it out of Iowa (or wherever) it is ok. Hazmats are another issue where I live since we work and cannot sign for the package.
frankly, nor do even want powder sitting on my front steps for ANY period of time. It then goes back to the area loading station for Fed Ex, and I have to go home early and then over to Fed Ex. Maybe the truck is back or maybe not. Maybe the Hazmats have been off loaded and stored in a separate area, and maybe not. You see where this is going.....

I've had no problems with Sinclair / Brownell. The delivery delays here are due to the shipping companies but the items do arrive, usually about a week later than normal.

If possible, anticipate your needs and place the order well in advance of needing the items.

Well , I told Brownells to mark my account "absolutely no FedEx" two weeks ago and my last order from this past Wednesday I received shipping info on Thursday showing it for delivery on Friday........contacted Brownells and ask why it went FedEx and they recalled the shipment back to Iowa when is was at facility and to deliver the next morning......THAT IS A BROWNELLS PROBLEM ! They are really bad lately !

Just got my order today. Original order was on 9/2/20. Shipped on 9/3/20. They need
to do something about this or they will loose customers. 20 days from time order was placed.
When I called last week they seemed to care less.

Again, you can easily fix this by selecting something other than the lowest tier shipping. I'm attaching an image how to select the different shipping options on check-out. Choose ground or 1/2 business day shipping. The "Standard" shipping is the type you're complaining about, with last mile delivery often by USPS.

Absolutely correct. You have to pick your shipping and if you pick the cheapest you're going to get the slowest.

Brownells last resort on shipping 100 miles takes 8 to 9 days

I paid for 2 day guarantee shipping and it arrived 8 days later ! Fedex is the pits and Brownells newest hires aren't informed well , that's a fact
