I am really new to rimfire shooting. I know that ammunition is in short supply right now and I probably picked the wrong time to start something new.

I have been able to find ammo that is fairly accurate in my rifles, but the price is exorbitant. Eley Tenex at $21.00 per 50 rounds.

I have been buying Wolf, Fiocchi, RSW and a few others When available, sometimes single box, to try and by the brick when it is accurate in my rifle..

Question is, What was the usual price of the better ammo. I have nothing to compare todays prices with the times when it was plentiful.

If you are paying $21.00 for Eley Tenex, you are buying from the wrong place. Killoughs gets $17.99/50 with free shipping on larger quantities.
Check their available lots on their website or check the St.Louis warehouse stock by doing a search for "St Louis warehouse Tenex".
There are other websites that sell Tenex cheaper but you don't get to choose a lot number, you get what they send you which amounts to an expensive crap shoot.

Look at "Good Shooting" website. The prices are pretty much the same as they were 6 months ago. Nice people.

I cant say enough good things about Cathy and James. I have known them and been shooting with them for years.

Buying "good" quality, .22 LR ammo, is like buying Stocks in, the Stk Market,..
You BUY when NOBODY else, wants the "stuff" !
And,.. "hoard' it,.. til' next season !
