Yes any bullet will work. Will it the best fit for 180's? Probably not. Ask for the reamer specs.
Not sure where your pre-fit barrel is made or coming from but many pre-fits and companies that offer .284 chambered barrels, chamber them with "match" reamers that may acomodate the Berger 180s. Not sure what the freebore spec is on "match" chambers but it's definitely longer than a saami spec chamber for sure. The standard Saami spec was designed for a short flatbase bullet in the 150 class range when the .284 was designed for semi auto loaders. Made to fit in a magazine (2.8").I'm thinking of ordering a pre-fit barrel for a Savage rifle in .284 Win. Will a standard .284 Win chamber work with 180 Bergers?

Hate to disagree with ya, but....Won't work with bullets that heavy...SAAMI spec chamber has no freebore...
About to do one for myself with a PTG "match" reamer but will still need to throat it after to about .225 freebore from what I've read.
I don't see this particular chambering as a good, "off the shelf" choice for a prefit. If it's what your chamber of choice is on a Savage, might as well order a reamer ground to exactly what you want insofar as neck (what brass? turn/no turn?) and freebore.
I called Criterion (?) and inquired about their "match barrels" and the gentleman told me that they were cut to take 180 Berger's. I'm not sure about the quality of the barrels though. But they fit my budget.
I did forget to take into account that the saami starts at .290". A degree in a lead's half angle is worth about .060" or so in seating depth from my experience. But the increase in .0055" starting diameter is a little beyond my math skills.
