Concerning the "Carpet Rule" and CIHPRS matches

What I find interesting is how quickly the NRA was able to act on this. The "event" happened in February and in July they have a rules change proposed? That's like lightning speed for the NRA.

I wonder if they have certified records and upgraded classifications from the same event? You know, shit that actually matters.

Wonder how you'd respond to having your honesty and character impugned in a public forum ? Think about that for a minute . Pro Golfers are some of the most honest people I've known in my entire life . B/S blanket statements by some key-board Kommando who knows nothing of the Tour should keep their remarks to themselves . Did you know the Tour reviews the entire play every day , before going home ? Didn't think so .

I stand behind my statement even more now.... "From my experience, those that are offended by being scrutinized usually have something to hide. Those that are open to conversation and sometimes criticism are most interested in promotion of the sport. That doesn't mean you can't defend your position but you better do it with facts and not emotions. And if you choose to put yourself in a leadership position....you damn well better have thick skin."

No keyboard commando here. I plainly list my name under my screen name. My handicap is a public record not that it really matters. Funny how you know so much about PDs and all the railroaded cops. The worst cops were those who swore none were bad and that society was out to get them. I should know. Feel free to call out my honesty and character.....I've got the thick skin to handle it.

I was simply giving examples of how self policing doesn't always work. You're the one that went postal over it.

Would it be so terrible to have non TR shooters look at the rules. Heck, even a committee of non F-class people to look at F class rule changes?
Actually, I think this is a great idea. Full disclosure - I shoot only XTC.
The reason I think it's a great idea is it would provide insight to how clear/not clear the rules are from non insiders. Along the lines that a rule should be understandable by a 12 year old.
Non insiders will tend to ask questions that may seem really dumb to people in the discipline. But, it's those dumb points that are the ones that insiders often argue about when a rule is interpreted.

Did not plan on commenting on this. However, after this many pages why not:

Was at F class Nats in 2018 and guy next to us had two long grooves cut into his carpet so it could free recoil. Many RSO's walked past and nobody said a thing.

Personally I could have cared less with the amount of wind that day (or any day). The best FTR shooter was going to win regardless of equipment.

As a person qualified to adjudicate on the interpretation of rules here in Australia with better than 20 years' experience on the job, it's my jaundiced experience that if a person sees an opportunity to gain an advantage by pushing/bending/bypassing a rule, he will.

I was reclassified after this years SWN, and my scores listed under the shooter activity page. So yes they have been doing so even with limited staffing.
