Votex Strike Eagle 5x25x56 review

So been looking for new glass for my new LR rifle . Currently running the Viper PST's on my other guns . Was pretty set on a gen ll Razor for this build , but was told to take a look at the Strike Eagle . I realize that it is not the same as a Razor , but for $1300 difference , what have any of you seen good and bad . Thanks for your info .

Actually a $1000 difference between it and the Razor II but comes down to your price range. The Strike Eagle is actually a good scope in it's price range. Is it a Razor II? Not even close but it has good glass, good elevation range even with the zero stop ring in place, an excellent reticle, decent feeling knobs and it tracks. I have one on a .22 and ran a tracking test to 20 mils and it was right on. The PST Gen II has crisper clicks in the elevation and glass is a slight hair better but the FOV is larger at 25x in the Strike Eagle.

Just curious where you got your prices ? Razor is $2k and Strike Eagle is $700 . I ask because if you have an supplier to a Razor for $1700 , please let me know . And you like the PST glass better ? Is FOV really a concern when looking at a 12inch plate at 1000yds ?? Thanks

You need to shop around for pricing and also call as places can not advertise at lower than the manufacturer's MAP(Minimum Advertised Price). Here is a link to it for $1599 when you add it to your cart. On the page it will say $1999.

PST Gen II glass is very slightly better. Put them right next to each other and looked at the same targets at 540 yards and you could barely see a difference. Both are good enough to hit a 12" target at 1000 yards.

FOV comes into play when having to move from target to target if shooting at multiple targets like in a match setting. If just looking at one target it isn't a concern.

I can see the X on a 500 Yard F Class target and read the numbers.

They finally brought viable competition to the Leupold VX5HD with their Razor LHT. I will be picking up an LHT for a rifle that used to wear a VX5 so i can test them both out

BTW does anyone know if Vortex produce in China or Philippines ?

Depends on the line. The less expensive lines up to the Strike Eagle are China, The PST lines are the Philippines and then into the Razors are Japan and USA.
