I have read a lot about what guys are running in 600 and 1000yd F-Open and other competition classes/styles (PRS, Club off hand matches, etc.) and I see 90gr 6mm variants are very popular. I don't mess with benchrest and so I was curious why 90gr when there are 105gr, 110gr, 112gr and 115gr options out there? I just tested 110gr SMKs and was getting 3208fps with RL22 out of a 26" Hart barrel. The SD was not what I wanted, but I will try and remedy that the next time I load. I honestly think I got a few 1 time fired brass mixed in with my fully formed brass. Anyway, if you're running 90gr I'd like to hear what it is that keeps you there. I skipped right over them and started working with 105gr straight off.
Specs:
Hart 1/8 Heavy Varmint fluted
Rem 700 SA
Peterson SRP brass
CCI BR4 Primer
46gr RL 22
Thanks in advance to anyone with knowledge on the subject or experience using 90gr pills for their feedback.
Respectfully,
Terry
