Yes sir, I compete against them every weekend we shoot UBR, Larry Moore, Mike Ezell, Brud Sheets, Richard Alford and many more! Just go to the UBR website and you'll find my name at the bottom ;-) The ones that came apart are all 30BR and not sure if that makes any difference, I'm still learning and will be until they put me 6' under.
LOL yes, I quit using them once the neck comes off!! You make me LOLas for 30 BR coming apart, that is probably after dozens of firings. I do not say an exact number because no one has yet determined just how many times you can fire a 30BR case before it is not worthy.
I suppose neck separation might be the limit.
I do understand that but preparing to be able to shoot I feel is very important and I want to be as prepared as I can.This. So much this. Say it louder for the people in the back.
Yes sir, next barrel I'm going to a .268 neck I think, the .262 brass is turned to .00825 to make a .260 loaded round. Thanks for your input. Here is where I end my cuts end, here are pics of the neck turned 220 Russian, then the case fired once.

this is a .269 neck, I turn to .012 thick. I don’t worry about a donut with the PPC or 30BR because the bullet never comes any where near it.
I can turn out 5 cases a minute on an IDOD...without trying to be quick. I’ve turned 100 pieces of .284 in under 20min. No lube to apply or clean up but have to clean out interior chips so that time saved is a wash. I would think it would be a worthwhile investment for a brass prepping service. Any comment DJ?
PM sentDJ - what do you use for turning? Time is money when you’re doing it as a job.
I have cut into the shoulder a bit more than I wanted to on ocassion but have never had a case come apart and I load on the warm side. I do use a cutter with a 30 degree angle. My point is don't get lost and mired in the details. Guy who reads conditions best and makes no mistakes wins.
Am i just seeing them in bad light or is every one turned to a different spot like you were stopping them on your own rather than the case mouth stopping them?25-06 from Lapua 30-06. This was the neck turning prior to necking down.

Not the light. I let the mandrel stop the turn, but I hadn't trimmed the cases. Since I was going to neck down and turn them again I just wanted to get to the shoulder. Of course after necking them down, that point is now about 40% down the shoulder of the case.is every one turned to a different spot like you were stopping them on your own rather than the case mouth stopping them?
True, but one simple fact of Benchrest is you are no better than the Rifle sitting in the bags.
We know that but the whole point is "make everything the best it can be" so that when I fail I have NO ONE to blame but me and that is the way I like it (I never blame anyone else except me anyway).true but on the other side the rifle is no better than the person sitting behind it
