Including Jerry White!!
Well Jerry wanted a blue LRB to go along with his red 1 done in ABC'z red.
Jerry's request...
It had to have multiple layers of marble
It needed to be dark to the point of not seeing the marble in the off light only in bright light.
No worries, I got this!
I'll just spray a couple coats of smoke candy before blue.20200626_123752.jpg
Meet mom.
So Jerry and myself discussed the color and both agreed it needed to go darker.
So I sanded it down for another round of candy n clear.
More smoke and blue.20200629_085433.jpg
Well the long and short of it is I battled solvent pop through the whole job.
I again talked with Jerry and told him about the paint problem.
I informed him I would be stripping this super cool job off.20200701_073120.jpg 20200702_092936.jpg
After reprime I sprayed it agian

Here's what came of the 2nd shoot20200706_103938.jpgThe black was just to overbearing !!
Again we talked, again we agreed it wasn't what either of us wanted.

Sorry I don't have better pictures, somebody's model cropped or deleted them and I didn't catch it till after packaging for shipping.

3rd time is a charm when you have the skill set and determination to "get it right".

Thanks for sharing and showing that sometimes things don't go as planned. I have always believed that 90% of the path to success is the drive to keep trying.

Had an extended family who was a retired Lt. Colonel who dealt with transporting supplies and personnel in unfriendly areas of the world his motto related to un-forseen problems was "FIDO", not to difficult to figure out.

Nice paint job. U r to be commended for the dedication to "getting it right" whatever it takes.

I felt I should add a little info about Jerry, @jvw2008 .
Not only do I consider Jerry a friend, he is a outstanding craftsman in his own right. His woodworking skills have been featured in the daily bulletin a few times.
His attention to detail is 2nd to none.

Brett, your dedication and professionalism is amazing. That would have driven me to at least a couple extra shots of Vodka. In fact, I may have them anyway just for you. :D

This is why I rarely paint. I can manufacture with the best of them, but I know my limit. Remember, "A man's got to know his limitations!" Clint Eastwood.

Amazing color. I like the darker color. Looks fantastic.

I talked to Brett on the phone a few times through this and it was "bang your f'n head blue"

Outstanding work as usual @Bc'z and sorry @jvw2008 has to be so particular LOL
We should've gone matt black!!
I actually rinsed the can of blue candy with reducer to get this done.
It was that or spend $152 for a quart of concentrate enough product to do 50 stocks!
