Can Only Connect to Forum with Cellular?

This is most likely an internet routing issue as stated before. The internet is getting slammed with everyone working from home and binging hours of Netflix. Backbones are getting throttled and routed all over causing all kinds of issues. The only way to force a new route is shut off your internet gateway (modem, router, ...) and restart it to re-establish a new one.

Yeah, I thought that too. So, turned it all off and reset both modem and router. After rebooting it all back up . . . nothing improved as a result.

Whatever's going on, it's a lot deeper than that.

So far so good the last couple days.

Re-start of anything within my control provided NO fruit at all. No changes in the results period. Only work around for me was to turn off my wi-fi so my phones internet could work and/or start up my "hot spot" Both of those worked flawlessly.

Yeah, the issue seems to be not with the routing table on the local machines or local routers but rather with what are called AS Paths. Paths between Autonomous Systems (AS) that constitute the backbone of the internet. Those AS's are transit networks that are transited as traffic flows in the direction of destination. In particular, this appears to be within one AS in particular, gtt.net. Not necessarily a BGP problem (the protocol used to create and broadcast AS Paths) but it looked more like an internal AS routing issue.

Forum Boss: Just so as not to create confusion, Ron is referring to Autonomous System (AS) routing, not Accurate Shooter (AS) internal routing.

A Bunch of Engineers and I started logging Internet Traffic on specific Domains .. We forwarded the logs to the FCC.. Investigations are being initiated over the attacks.

A bit of a thread tangent I realize... but are there any advantages to using a VPN for either the site and/or end user?

With respect to this particular issue, in addition to what INTJ said, it depends. Your VPN client is connecting to a VPN server and depending on where that VPN server is located, the path through the problem AS may be bypassed or the problem AS (in this case) may not be routing your traffic to the black hole due to it being from a different origin IP subnet that is not flagged as a source of a DdoS attack.
