Howa 1500 magzines

I keep forgetting to post this, so here it is. I found like many other howa owners how easy it is for the mag to fall out when hunting, and i found the solution that works on my mini 7.62x39.
I went to wally world and in the lady's section got some of the bands that women use to pull their hair back and hold it in place. (succi brand?) I simply looped it through itself on the front of the trigger guard and then over the mag and it has worked very well, no more problems with the mag falling out.

The common way to fix it also is to grind/ cut the release lever down substantially. It is still operational but almost impossible to accidentally bump. New bottom metal also fix's the problem.

Are those the plastic mags that are used in the mini actions. Are they the same as regular 1500 short magazines?

I've been thinking Grendel myself, if the BDL plate is back in stock?
