Cz 527 magazine max length

What's the maximum overall length I can load to for a cz 527 magazine? .223 chambering, I would like to buy a cz action for a project and haven't seen them.

I had my run with the CZ 527’s. I had four and am down to one. They shoot very well for a factory rig. But, for the money and the more I shot them the more I started to dislike them.

Have my reasons. I may be the one in a million that has an issue with them. Friend of a friend pointed me towards a Howa Mini. For me it was what I was looking for. Not as easy on the eyes as the CZ. If Howa would do a Hornet bolt face they would sell a pile of them.

JSH, I am venturing into both Howa Mini and CZ currently. Have a custom 22 K-Hornet being done on a CZ 527 and a 22 Spitfire being done on the Howa. Eddie Harren is doing them both. I am banking on the experiences of flyrod that the Howa will extract the Spitfire, we'll see. I'm also working on my own 223 based case that will have about the same capacity as the Spitfire or a Bee. Have a number of 223 boltface actions that could be rebarreled for this one, Hornet/Spitfire not so much. I agree about the Howa with Hornet boltface, but don't think that will happen, so looking at an alternate route.

Why don’t you like them? I am contemplating converting a left hand 223 cz to a 20 vartarg. What problem might I face?

Max mag length in .223 has worked fine for me, for the last 1500 rounds at least.

Ok, not sure what you’re saying.

I took it as the OP wanted to know max length of a 223 cartridge in a CZ 527 .223 magazine. He didn’t have a CZ 527 on hand so I made up a dummy around and gave him the info.

Right. I'm confirming that they feed/function as expected in my 527 around that length. They work fine at shorter lengths too, FWIW.

Of the three I had, 204,17remington, and 22 Hornet, I was not pleased at all how any of them fed. Even with the single shot bob sled. It was better but still not smooth, like a Howa. Single feeding was totally out unless you really forced it.
Others say theirs fed fine.
A lot of others do the same as I do or did to close the bolt. Push the bolt shut with your thumb on the back of the bolt, making it go straight forward. Using the bolt to close was like pushing a brick across a gravel road.

The first Howa I bought I ran through the ringer so to speak. Throw a cartridge in the action close the bolt. It was so smooth I wasn’t sure it chambered. I just had my 222 out this past week. Closing the bolt with zero effort feeding from the magazine, I thought it skipped it was so smooth feeding from the mag and single feeding.
The Howa isn’t with out fault as many guns arent.
Imho the price point of the two I won’t even look at another 527.
A few friends of mine have several 527’s. They shoot well and look good.
YMMV
