been shooting 80gr Bergers and 70gr Sierra Matchkings with N135 or a little AR-Comp. loads for the 80's have been moderate, 29 to 29.6 grs of N135 or 28.4 to 29 grs of AR-Comp. the Matchkings have seen 29.3 or 32.5 grs of N135.

PMA tool boreguide, same stuff i use on all my barrels. been using Boretech C4 and Wipeout. barrel has never picked up copper. i have JB borepaste and Flitz bore cleaner, but i have never needed to use any abrasive cleaner on a barrel with 200 rds through it.

as for breakin, i shoot 5 light load rounds through it then cleaned with Barnes copper cleaner. got virtually no copper out of it. shot a few more rounds and did the same again. same procedure i have used on a bunch of barrels with no issues.

How many rounds are through it to look like that? Do you shoot over different powder without cleaning?.... jim

thanks all. i have changed the following to try and isolate the problem to no avail so far.

1) different action
2) different scope rail
3) different scope rings
4) different scope
5) different stock.

all the components involved have shot well with other barrels.
