You, I, and every other person that actually contributes to this economy feels the same way. This money isn't free... we're going to pay for it, and it'll cost more than we ever received.

Rumblings of a second check are being heard. THAT check would be my "fun check"!

The Boss said a while back he didn't want to force people to do it . I don't remember why. The problem with this bail out check is we have to and will pay it back by tax hikes. I just read that Mr Freidman an economist is saying in about a year to 18 months we could see triple digit inflation so the check is meaningless. Out of the 2.2 trillion we get 350 billion and the rest is going to a lot of different useless organizations who could of probably waited till we recover. By the end of the second week in May they want to spend another 500 billion on further bail outs so it will be over three trillion and the President will get blamed for all of this which is totally unfair.

He gets credit for stuff that happens under his watch whether it's good or bad.

A couple thoughts about why the massive spending isn't all that big of a deal.

Also based on comments to another board from someone a bit in the know in D. C. there is no danger of interest on the debt exceeding revenue for the foreseeable future so I wouldn't worry too much about running out of road. For those who don't want or need the payment there are plenty of charities that do.

I understand all that and agree with you completely, but I'm trying to look at it in a purely selfish and short sighted "gun-nut" way! Lol

Since I refuse to voluntarily provide my checking information to the feds, my check will be arriving via USPS. Question: has anyone here received their Uncle Sugar check in the mail yet?

I don't get it. I got stimulated and I had to WRITE a check.

I had to go to the IRS "Get My Payment" site, put in my personal info, and last years tax info. Now it says I'm scheduled to get the stimulus check and they will let me know exactly when.

My Father did, but we checked the deceased box and returned it

Didn't expect to get a check but guess what?
Got one and so did the wife.
Checked the account balance and SURPRISE, there it was.
Don't need it so we'll think on it a bit before making any moves.

Used ours to pay income tax from last year. Didn’t quite cover it, but it was close and that works for me. Normal spending will continue

That's where I am - owe them about double what the stimulus might be. But glad to get the help anyway.
I've not entered data on the website, so no idea when mine might be mailed.
