Cerokote Color that Mimics Bluing

All my rifles are for hunting purposes. Some have stainless barrels. The concept of carrying around what the deer see as a light colored stick seems non productive. Also some stocks beg a blued barrel. Is there a cerokote color that can mimic Bluing? I realize the subtleties inherent in a good blue job won't be there, but anything close? I can't tell from electronic pics. Any help would be appreciated. Mike

Edit: The damn spell corrector won't let me spell cerokote correctly, how do you turn that POS off on a Android tablet? So far nothing I have tried works.

I am pretty sure they do, seems I just seen 3 different "blue" colors somewhere but I just can't remember. I am positive that if you call "James" at northland shooters he can hook you up.

Yes, I have had a number of guns blued with Cerrocoating. They are far better than most bluing.

socom blue

We use Graphite Black at our shop....looks like a matte blue. We also do regular hot salt blue and rust blue so we can actually compare side by side. Color charts from Cerakote aren't exact. You need to look at something painted to get true color.
If I recall, Graphite Black is Cerakote color used on this build. I've always liked the rich deep bluing that came from the factory on the Rem 700 BDL Custom Deluxe models but it was easier to go Cerakote instead. It still turned out looking good, just not quite as good as the factory bluing.

As much as I would have liked the "look" of actual bluing, since all my scopes are flat black, the Cerakote finish matches the scope a lot better so it overall probably looks better the way it turned out.

I need a decent sandblast cabinet, oven, and spraay guns, then Ill be doing mine myself. Got the air compressor set up... i got more cerakoting to do it is cost prohibitive to pay someone, I can just buy everything I need to do it...

Ive got a gun done in duracoat.. it scratches/wears easy, dont like that stuff.

Socom Blue is probably the best match but in some light looks way too blue especially, with a gloss finish. Graphite or Armor Black actually looks the best in my opinion.

Thanks for ideas guys, looks like I need to see what the various colors you suggested actually look like in person in natural light. My FFL dude does cerakoting and he "owes me", just have to pay for materials. Dale, I actually considered hydro dip. I need to do some turkey and predator stuff. You said it's easier to change. I suspect you have to bead blast cerakote? How do you remove hydro dip? Also, can I DIY new hydro dip stuff in my bathtub? Do they make a camo cerokote that works? Thanks, Mike

sand blast cerakote to change colors. Nothing really sticks to cerakote. If you have a certified applicator they do pretty cool camo patterns. Not sure if they are skilled enough to do a real tree look. But definitely some sharp patterns.

this is the guy I use. Hilland Arms out Thomaston, GA.

What about gloss black? I’m trying to decide what color black to get my barreled action cerakoted.
