Rem 700 triggers

Since I have plenty of time and I am hanging around home lately I started digging through corners and boxes and found a Canjar trigger for a Remington 700. I have a heavy barrel Remington 700 in 223 that I would like to put it on but the existing trigger has a bolt release and the canjar does not. Is there a way of removing the bolt if I install the cans are trigger without a release?

Just take a screwdriver or flat blade knife and push down on the bolt stop to remove the bolt. It's very easy to do and I would rather have the bolt stop in there anyway. You don't have to worry about the bolt being pulled out that way.

Yep, I just installed another trigger like this last night. A small flat blade screwdriver does the trick. I slightly bent a cheap one just to make it work a little easier.

They are out of business but they built an excellent trigger. Being out of business doesn't change that fact any more than Winchester being out of business would reduce the desirability of a pre-war Model 70. WH

Don’t reinstall the bolt stop & spring when you remove your existing trigger.
I would worry I would wind up dropping the bolt on the concrete at the range when moving the rifle with the action open. A slight tilt up on the muzzle, and I can see road rash all over my bolt....

We don’t leave the bolt in the action. For the local range guys, I could definitely see that as a concern. Good point.
