7mm saum on short action

Any of you boys running 180 bergers on a short action 7mm saum? What’s your overall length? What kind of velocity’s. Really want to play with this round but don’t want to wait my time

My last two were on short actions.
OAL with 180 vld’s touching was around 2.930ish. This was a .050 freebore.

Rl26 and cci250’s gave me 3020 FPS in one and 3045 FPS for the other, both 26” proof barrels. Those loads were a full 2 grains under the first pressure signs.

Which action do you want to build on ? Wyatt is making a 3.23” inside magazine box for Remington 700’s. A little bit of machine work needed. I have one that I haven’t dove off on yet but I’ve got a donor action coming soon. That’s if you want a repeater.

god that’s excellent velocity! Without rl26 you must of been closer to 2900-2950 ish

The Zeus is sitting in the mpa so I would have to switch stocks for a bdl style to be able to feed that far. That’s why I was looking for a true short action set up to be able to feed from a more standard mag. I know accurate makes a mag that’s little longer, 3.055

I have a handful of Accurate Mag's and 3.065" is the outside measurement.
Inside they measure 2.990', so max COAL shouldn't exceed 2.950".

I could be mistaken but I believe accurate makes a short action magazine that is 3.055” inside and 3.070 outside. Now they removed material and binder plate so rigidity of magazine isn’t as good.

I have both with the binder plate and without.
