House arrest!

I could stay home inside without help from the government for weeks if I wanted to. I don’t like or think it’s right for the “nanny state” to arbitrarily tell people to stay home. If all the Constitution isn’t important then none will be.
But I assume you have no problem accepting government subsidized healthcare and cash those government checks????

Anyone that knows they are sick (with anything) and willfully goes out into the world to possibly infect others, is a despicable pile of garbage. If someone doesn't have the moral compass to refrain from endangering others, then I really don't care what happens to that person. They are the embodiment of all that is wrong with this society, and deserve whatever foul thing will come to them.

This is the danger to us old folks:
The National News had a story on and they "interviewed" a 20 something girl. On TV, when asked what she would do if she got sick she said she would still go to work because she needed the money to pay her bills. She had no savings.
If people with the virus continue to circulate in society, it's going to spread. Duh!
Most youngsters don't save money so they have to go to work.

I am sitting here looking at the typical hospital that services a town of 100k people, 250 beds, 8 respirators..................I see a lot of people young and old, on spring break or not, that think they are disease proof, facts are we do not want everyone sick at the same time, your case might be mild while others not so fortunate, we cannot stop it, but we can spread it out over a period of time, and hope all the mitigation gets rid of it over the coming months.

My in-laws have the adopted several attitudes lately including the “I’m going to die soon anyway” because of their age (80s) and medical conditions. They tell us nobody tells them what to do, they’ve earned that right. Just crazy to hear someone actually say that. They live about 10 miles away in a neighboring town and my wife and I call them periodically to see if they need supplies dropped at their door since we are well supplied and each time we are answered with “nobody is sick in our town, we live too far away from the city, we just ran out to grab some stuff so don’t bother”. It’s so frustrating. One excuse after another as to why they won’t listen. We try to explain to them that staying put is the same as swerving around a car that stops suddenly. Nobody sees an accident because it was avoided. Problem is people have a penchant for looking at accidents especially if they didn’t cause them.

Governor's are doing, for the most part, what is needed to maintain essential services. Their actions should make citizens feel that their health is important, just as families should make decisions that are best for them. If any elected officials actions make individual constituents feel their health and welfare is not top priority, do not forget and do not stay quiet. We will be able to(and should) vote out public representatives who do not take our health and safety their most important job. Of course all actions need to be within the constraints of the constitution and Bill of rights.

Too many people with lack of common sense and respect for others. The Me Me Me generations have never been inconvenienced and aren't comfortable in their own skin unless surrounded by birds of the same feather. This group think is a contributing cause to the lock downs. South Beach Miami was a good example of how these people think.
it's called a HIVE MIND we as a country r done

Is it legal to order you to stay home? The Constitution given the Government only Four powers. Taxation, Provide for the Common Defense, Regulate Interstate Commerce and Negotiate Treaties. So that being said no they can not. Should you? I live in an area of no known cases. None with in 200 miles. I do as I please but don't travel to infected areas. If you live with in an area that has cases, I personally would say at home... But it would be my choice. They can not post a police officer at everyones house or block all the streets.

"They can not post a police officer at everyones house or block all the streets."
They try and block a state, county, city border, close an interstate, run it down.
Hold up your copy of your Constitution as you drive by them.

Who has the power to keep you in your home?
The Pres, your governor, or your mayor?

Just finished Chemo and Radiation. Surgery scheduled for the 2nd. I still need groceries, meds. Yeah, I'm a bit concerned, especially by the people who feel entitled to do as they've always done. Gas pump handle?, door handle? pistol at the gun store?
entitled m-er f-ers. Think beyond the end of your d#*k on how it could affect others. I'm staying away for selfish reasons. Maybe others should do the same. Not looking for answers from our gubment, just common sense and courtesy from the public.

If a man said a few months ago all this would be happening he would be labeled insane. In the blink of a eye look what has happened. The virus is real ! The stock market crash is real ! Fear is real ! Stupidity is real !Our government is in damage control, nothing is going to stop the above conditions. The recovery of our country depends on the management of the percentages on those conditions.I would not want to be a government official right now trying establish order in a society where these conditions not only greatly vary from region to region but person to person.

I say the boomers are the most entitled spoiled people there are....

I am 67....

Some sources suggest the Boomer birth years were 1944-1964.

Others 1946-1965.

Look further you can fine it as 1946-1964, what the Fed. Reserve Board goes by.

As I’m close to turning 71 I’m an earlier member than you, at 67 born in 1953, just shy of the half-way mark.

So you’re a B’Boomer too, whether you admit it or not.

And having been here just 6 months you ought to have learned those of us here before you deserve more respect than your post evidences.

It’s not about the desire to spread anything it’s about making others responsible for your health. You are free to do as you choose and stay home. Maybe work from home and continue to support yourself others might not have that option. Who gets to choose?

Want to raise pigs in the back yard of your townhome? How about running an auto repair shop in the same building's garage? Have your rock band practice in your driveway in a subdivision? When people fail to use common sense, the government is always going to step in. It's as simple as that.
