Where'd my chamfer go ?

Bolt Gun Bodacious
I chamfer the inside of the case neck for every rifle load. Then I FL size each case every time.

My chamfer always disappears to a squared off case neck.

Is FL sizing crushing down the chqmfer ?

Brass stretches more than you think. I tumbled some in pins and dawn etc and my small chafer was gone almost. Everytime I load I touch them up with a VLD type tool.

I only chamfer new or once fired factory. Should I be doing it more often?

Whatever works.for you.

Now i don't tumble.my cases wet or.dry. After sizing a case i clean primer.pockets with a crockagator, lightly brush out neck, run a wilson depriming pin through the flash hole to ensure its clear and do a light chamfer & debur with a hand tool. While doing so i examine the condition of the case.

A little.time.consuming but i enjoy reloading and want to take care of my carefully prepared brass.

It’s hard to see these chamfers under the carbon, and if they still exist. So I steel wooled a few and at least in my case (pun intended) it was just obscured by carbon.
