Hi all. Does anyone out there have a sketch for modifying a shooting mat for the rear bag to sit on the ground for FTR. In my case he mat is a Midway. one
Thanks

Next time you have everything set up on your mat take a sharpie with you and trace a line around your rear bag. Cut around the outside of the line with scissors and remove the piece. Now the inside of the mat should be a thin layer of foam. Cut just the foam out from inside the two outer layers approximately one inch beyond your cutout. Now that the foam is out of the way you can glue and clamp the two halves together with fabric glue. The mat I’m using is a Midway mat and has been cut and glued about two seasons ago and still holding together well. I use a the Edgewood gator bag and sitting on the ground makes it a lot more stable. Good luck.Hi all. When you place the rear bag on the mat it can wobble due to the foam insulation. When placed securely on the ground, voila, no wobble.I’m not a F class shooter, just sling. Why would you do this?
Been there, done that. I use a Seb big foot and the dead bottom isn’t big enough. I got the one Seb makes but it puts the big foot up too high for my taste. I run a Mini front rest and I like to set it as low as possible.
I shoot TR, don't have those issues.Been there, done that. I use a Seb big foot and the dead bottom isn’t big enough. I got the one Seb makes but it puts the big foot up too high for my taste. I run a Mini front rest and I like to set it as low as possible.
^^^^^^^^^^Get an Edgewood dead bottom. You don't have cut your mat and bag doesn't wobble.
