Any Long Range BR in Texas?

I am looking for my last career and there is a good chance the new job will be in Arizona or near the San Antonio area of Texas. I know about 1000 yd BR in AZ but I haven't come across anything in Texas yet. That is surprising to me. I currently live in the embarrassingly liberal state of Oregon, and I have two NBRSA long range facilities within 3 hours.

So does anyone shoot 600 or 1000 yd BR near San Antonio?

600 yard F class near SA. I dont know of any BR near SA. But if there is it wont be 1000. I think ive heard years ago theres a short range br shoot somewhere but cant say positively.

Thanks, but I am only interested in 600 and 1000 yd BR matches. So far it looks like a 12-13 hour drive to either Tucson, Memphis, Houston, MO.

Guess it's time to get a Seneca and cut that time down to 4 hours......

I don't think there is LR BR at Whittington. It is interesting that LR BR passed by Texas, the place of the 1 mile shot. Maybe GBR will have some matches in Texas?

None in Texas to my knowledge. It sux.

There is short range BR in New Braunfels. Max 200 yards I believe. On the same property there is CTSA that has a 500 yard F-Class match 1st Saturday of every month. Houston has 1000 yard F-Class. Not sure about BR.

I see a few long range BR matches at Long Range Alley in Shreeveport

If I understand correctly it is only 50 cal.

Now you made me read the match program. Have never seen one like that. Nothing based on 50 BMG allowed. Must must be .338 or less. 22 lb. weight limit and maybe muzzle brakes allowed. I guess a phone call would be in order.

South Central Shooters hold .50 cal matches there. Craig Martin has been shooting them. I was unaware of any other BR at LRA. It would be a good location for such.

We would love to have you shoot with us in Memphis, there is no more 600 yard benchrest in Houston, MO.

The FCSA holds a Spring and a Fall time 50 Cal. match a Louisiana Long Range Alley in Grand Cain, La (Shreveport area).
I also believe they shoot some F-class events up there as well.

Hey Ron. On the Long Range Shooters website they list 4 matches called Hi Power Benchrest. No 50 cal allowed. Looks like muzzle brakes are allowed. I guess it's something like Fclass benchrest. If they would knock off the 22lb weight I expect you would have enough .338's we could all shoot.
