40th Hickory Groundhog Shoot 2020

Boys and Girls it's going to be fun! Great prize table and lot's of history at this shoot.
Only a month away!

I saw the write up in the bulletin today. There is one piece of information in that article that is incorrect. This will not be our last Hickory Groundhog shoot. Larry is simply passing the torch along to my partner and myself. Larry will stay on as a consultant of sorts so things go smoothly next year.
Bulls Eye Sporting goods has worked in conjugation with Larry over the last 5 years to obtain the great prizes that are on the table each year.
Please pass the info along. I would appreciate it.
Mike

Any truth to the rumor that live ground hogs will be used this year at 500 yards to make it challenging and separate the real hunters from the paper hunters?

So I have a question, last time I was there and shot we sat down and shot all 3 distances in one setup. That seemed to moved it along very well. Will this still be the same format or will we shoot one distance and

Normally, we shoot 100 relays, then 300 yard relays, then 500. It's no telling what Larry will do this year but I assure you it will move fast.
No dellet, no live ones:D

Two things:

1) will the future shots be at the same place or will you guys have a different venue?

2) there were actually 2 bits of incorrect info... Last year's winner was a 101, which beat Terry's 99 record.

Good to hear you guys are continuing. It's a great shoot and look forward to more! Anybody on the fence should jump in.

Well, Terry's record was beaten in 2018 by Greg Mashburn's sister and I can't remember if that was beaten in 2019. I'll check the records, hermetically sealed in a Dukes Mayonnaise jar in my shop.:D

I think she actually tied the 99 but that's a best recollection...

For sure Jeff Godfrey shot a 101 last year (first to ever break the 100pt margin and there was a reward for it). I've got a picture of his Target if I can get around to posting it....

No records will be broken this year:p

To clarify - same target (3) shots at each distance of 100-300-500 and no sighters? Is there practice the day before at the (3) distances?

Thanks!

No practice this year. Larry, may throw a curve ball, not sure but I'm going to practice at 100, 300 and 500 at another range.
