TEXAS ; Another Good Reason...

Texas is where I was born and raised. My wife and kids also, even though my son's just a freshman in high school, not completely done with him yet. This is where I have called home 41 of my 45 years. In 1994 I left to serve with Uncle Sam's Misguided Children. I could not get back here fast enough in 1998. I can say, I've been to the east coast, west coast, and the other side of the world, and this is where I want to be.
+1. BTDT, got tshirts. Edit - I meant traveled all over, but not for Uncle Sam. Thank you to all who served.

I had that same decision to make but about 25 years earlier. When i received my discharge papers from the squadron CO, he asked what my plans were. I told him that my gold Chevrolet was packed and I will be in Texas by tomorrow. I will decide all the important stuff when I get there.
Cherry Point, NC was not my idea of a great duty station.

Donald Trump got more votes as an unopposed Presidential candidate in Texas than the top 3 Democratic candidates for President got COMBINED in the Super Tuesday primary election. That was with almost 25% less Republican turnout than the last Presidential primary, with of course multiple candidates. The Democrats had less turnout for this primary with multiple candidates than they did in the previous Presidential primary with an almost certainty that Hillary would be their candidate. That tells me the Democrats have a looooonnngg way to go! A lot of Republicans in this state don't ever vote in the primaries.

I heard that today and I've been smiling all evening.

Lots of folks telling him to come and take them.

You got nothing to worry about, or dare I say hope for. It'll never happen.

Both parties use big talk to gin up their base. Beto's was "hell yes, I'm coming for your assault rifle" and Trump's is "we'll build a wall and Mexico will pay for it".

It gets the big reaction and the Kodak moment they want but it's not a happen'n.

In the end, regardless of which way the election goes, we'll still be able to buy all the guns we want, big business will still hire all the illegals they need for cheap labor, and women will be left to continue to fight for the right to family planning and equal pay because Big Business is, and always has owned Washington. Money talks, rhetoric walks. It's a universal theme, get over it.

Truth there. The guys behind the curtain are very adept at keeping the public distracted with " hot button issues". Has there ever been a time when you heard a reporter say " Not much happening today. It's pretty peaceful and all is well. "
Meanwhile, they're picking out pockets.
Look at the issue of Health care. There's a big push for "Government run health care". The current "laws" say Medicare is "Not allowed" to negotiate with the drug companies. Kinda convenient for the big drug Kingpins!
If "they" manage to implement "Free Health Care for all", they'll be able to take whatever they want out of our pockets.
