W748 load data

Does anyone here have experience with W748 powder for the 6BR?

I've tried a couple of loads and it seemed pretty good. I'd love to here other's exerience.

748 has a wide range of application. I use it in many different cartridges. When it works it really works. In my 8mm mauser/150 grain bullet's it is magic. .300"-.400" , 5 shot groups. That is running it on the hot side.

I run W748 in my 7x30 Waters Contender.

Also in 222 Rem in a short barreled M600, where it gets way better accuracy than IMR4198

The testing I did found that the lighter bullets stayed within the pressure range and mostly filled the case. The heavier 105s don't allow for a full case although the performance was acceptable.

I've shot a bunch of it through slow twist barrels in the P-dog wars. Not gonna say how much but let's just say "a bunch" with a 60 gr. Sierra HP. Would shoot very small groups and very spattered P-dogs. 3600 Fps if that helps.

Reynolds hasn't been here since May 2016, OP from '05. Just pointing it out. I guess we can just figure it as a new thread since there wasn't any responses till today.

I’ve been noticing a lot of long since dead threads reappearing ?.... guess it’s not necessarily a bad thing just been noticing it more lately.

At least the OP got an answer. Regardless if it's 14 years later.

I love w748 for gas gun duty loading through the XL-650. It's perfect for 223/556 & 308/762 semi-auto's.

I've even had excellent results with bolt guns in 223r & 308w.
A friend loads 27.5 grains along with the Sierra 53 SMK's for his whole family which they use for deer hunting.
Swears by it. In the .223.

The wealth of knowlege here is immeasureable.
Summa us havent taken the time in life to do all this fun stuff yet just getting around to it.
These boolits arent in the book with that powder. If they are its way different than the other source. AAARRRGGGHHH.
I have gone to the range twice to load test and am astonished with my own ineptitude. And im being careful!
Thanks for all the help everyone!

The original poster asked the question 15 years ago, it was replied to this week. Reviving an old or dead thread is referred to as a zombie-thread. Just humor (I work with a bunch of millennials...they must be rubbing off on me).
