Any possibility of 20 practical factory rifle

Well, you can already buy a 20P upper from several sources. WOA is just one of them:

Regarding bolt guns, don't think I would be willing to spend the money and get a "factory barrel" unless it was a Cooper, and for new ones they are out of my price range.

No, the 204 already fills that knitch and other than cheap brass there is nothing it can do any better than the 204. That said I own two 20 P's, I won a AR in 20P in a shooting match and built a matching bolt gun. If I would have wanted a 20 cal. I would have bought a 204 as I already have cats in 22-204, 6mm-204 and 25-204 and there isn't much that a 204 will do that 40gr NBT's in a 22-204, 222 RM and 223AI won't do as well.

Even if they did, which is highly unlikely, they probably would change something about the case dimensions so someone couldn't accidentally chamber it in a 223 and if they change the dimensions of a 20 Practical aka 20-223, it would no longer be a 20 Prac.

My buddy and I have built 4 of the 20 Practicals off the Savage 12 FV . Shilen select match grade barrels , Rifle Basix Triggers and after market stock ( which ever one floats your boat). Super easy builds and very accurate. No need for a company to make a factory rifle. I do wish a Die Company would make a precision die for the 20 Practical. The Forester dies with the ring inserts works well for making the brass but I'd love to see a company make a set of dies specifically for that round. Maybe I'm just getting lazy. LOL.

They will space the release of both a year apart makes more hype and $$$ this way.

If anything could make good money & there is a need I would say the 20 Vartag could hold it's own I know if I had a choice one just one a 204 or 20 vartag in a factory gun-ammo I would own both haha

It would be nice to see a good factory bolt gun in .20 p - but with the so-close .204 Ruger, I can't see many companies wanting to do it. A while back, I bought a Lilja barrel blank to convert my Remington 700 from .223 to .20 P. While I already have a few A/R's in that caliber, I'm doing it to get rid of a boatload of Speer bullets I bought a few years back on special that don't shoot well in my A/R's due to the beer-can-sized hollow point. They shoot great single-shot mode so I know they have the potential.

For a f.l. bushing die, the Redding #77111 works perfectly for a 20 Practical. And L.E. Wilson makes an inline seater, #BS20-PRAC. I use them both on mine...good stuff.

As already stated, there’s too much overlap with the .204 Ruger. Too bad because the Practical is a great design. If another .20 cal is released commercially, my guess would be for something either substantially smaller (ie: Vartarg) or larger in something like the Valkyrie. My vote would be for the latter designed with a fast twist and 50+ grain bullets.

Nope. The standard seater threads are 40 T.P.I. It's a no brainer to move the seating stem .005, .010, etc. just by looking at the screwdriver slot on the top. Then, just check the overall length of the seater cap to confirm.

I miss spoke. I use the Redding not Forster. And yes, they are very good.

What Alguapo said! I just did this last year and my Practical is still shooting better than the stock Sav. 204 Ruger. I'm convinced it's the factory vs. Criterion barrel but still trying different powder/bullet combos in the Ruger. First time I've stepped into swapping a barrel and 2 co-workers have used the wrenches since.

I'd say you are spot on.

I'll take just about any aftermarket custom barrel over a factory barrel. Doesn't mean factory barrels can't sometimes shoot extremely well, but IMO your odds go wayyyyyy up with a good custom barrel.

Have a .223 FV and it shoots lights out. Just added an after market stock cause i got it cheap. So yea some times you win and other times??
