Handgun Shooting Instructions

I guess this is suppose to be funny but it doesn't contribute to helping a pistol shooter in becoming a better shot. We certainly need better pistol shooters at the club I belong to - the target backers are under constant damage / repair - the backers are 30 x 30 inches!

Would have been more useful if the standard diagram depicting pistol shooting errors and causes would have been posted but I've learn not to take anything too seriously these days.

The Bullseye-L Forum is the place to get started for serious pistol shooters (if they can't find coaches). Tons of material and instructional content. Very helpful for me.

I once walked down the line at an indoor range looking at the different targets. I was able to see what mistakes the shooters were making according to the Caswell diagram. Lots of flinching, jerking, no focus on front sight. I've stepped in an offered how to fix this but some shooters give you a WTF attitude and others politely listen but go back to same mistakes so I just leave them alone now. It's funny later when they look at a nice group on my 25 yard target and their 10 yard target looks like a shotgun pattern.

Uhhgggg we go through the same thing at my range... People hitting the target legs on the pistol ranges and have to be replaced... Good grief , like you said you have this huge backer and you hit the legs... Most of the people I see shooting aren't shooting over 10 - 15 yards.... To me that's horrible , I understand not everyone can shoot a 2-3 inch group but if you're shooting a 2-3 foot group at 15 yards it's time to find another hobby....

I took a guy out today who hasn't shot in a year , he isn't a shooter and he is taking his CHL class tommorow there and he wanted to at least run a box or two before then and he didn't hit the legs..... But the legs were shot up on that target stand... I will fix a few tomorrow while I am waiting for the written part of the test to be over...
