Well that was a boneheaded move...

I have no idea what was on my mind but completely spaced out and left my shooting stool and the box with my Harrell combo press, dies, bullets, and brass at the range yesterday afternoon . Makes me sick to my stomach because I always go back for a last check having seen others leave stuff behind in the past. Even made the 2 hour round trip back out there in the middle of the night hoping against hope but it's a public range, it's gone. I'll still call the fish and wildlife office today to report it on the off chance a warden found it or someone turns it in. A warden told me once he found a rifle left on the rack...

Oh well, it's all replaceable, just wasn't stuff I'd had in mind to buy this year :D

Feel your pain. Have not left anything valuable at the range yet, but it is inevitable. Have found and returned other's shooting items. Luckily for me my local range is a 5 minute trip at a private club, where I am well known. Post shooting sessions on the way home, I have a recurring thought that I left something behind. Grabbing gun cases and looking at my box are a every trip occurrence. Load my trick, police the area. Pull targets, police area. Talk with friends, police area. Someday it will happen to me. Hope you get your stuff back.

The same thing happens at my local Club. I found a Leopold spotting scope once. I took it and put the word out and found its rightfull owner before someone snagged it. There's a good chance it'll turn up.

Damn’
Well ...at least ya won’t have to worry bout ever doing that again.

Hopefully it comes back to you there are a few honest people left in the world

I've left a few cheaper items in the past, they all found new homes immediately.
Found a brand new Glock in the parking lot at the range one day, sales slip showed it was bought earlier that day, but no name. Told a friend who was a LEO about it and he said some of the cops were at range earlier qualifying. Yep it was one of theirs, bought for off duty.
I hope the guys at your range are more honest than mine and you get all your stuff back.

I hope you were not in Louisiana:rolleyes:. Good luck in having a good Samaritan return it to you. At LDWF ranges they installed baffles in front of the benches to keep shot angles low to prevent 'over the berm' rounds. Unfortunately one cannot see their bench/equipment from the target line while fixing targets and the criminal element has near complete defilade if they become so inclined as to walk off with a rifle or other gear:mad:.

I seem to be able to remember everything but the stool. I've left it at Deep Creek a couple times both after doing the walk around LOL go back 30 days later and someone, probably Dan has placed it under the big table.
I've also left it at home in the reloading room a time or two.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you’ll get lucky. Most shooters are honest folks.
Put up some posters at the range. A little late to advise this but I put my name and phone number on just about everything valueable.

it happens, I shoot at a private range with a lost and found locker that has quite a collection of various items and have found everything from target cams to earmuffs to place there. I tend to forget staplers myself, have lost two over the years. Hope you get your gear back

I wonder if there is some kind of electronic device that would ping you smart phone. On your rifle at least. Or put a bar code on it. Scan it out, scan it in. Check your phone before you leave. Just thinking out loud. There's some really ingenious people on this forum. Hope your gear turns up. Mike

That's exactly where it was, Sherburne to be exact...and yes, I hate the baffles!! :D Called the office and reported the lost stuff, hopefully it turns back up. Fortunately I still have the rest of my range kit and an arbor press so functionally I'll be fine replacing it with a less expensive option than the combo press.

Went through a divorce a few years ago and let my membership at Fussilier expire when they raised the cost so I've been slummin it at the public ranges for awhile as I get back into shooting more again. Was going to rejoin last year but drug my feet till the new member time was over. I'll be back out there this year again when membership comes back up.
