When signs of aging started appearing it was strange at first for me. Now I just laugh at myself.

Of course, aging is a reminder of one's mortality. Atheism would be scary.

My best friend and hunting buddy of 25 years just passed away from cancer at age 62. Social Security bureaucrat somewhere is smiling smugly. Every day above ground is a good day - or at least another day.

At 55 I don't consider myself old.........yet, but I work with a bunch of mid 20-30 yo guys who do. They like to poke at me about it and I tell them" Go ahead and laugh, if you're lucky you'll be this old one of these days". Like others, I thoroughly enjoyed abusing my body when I was young am now paying for it. But hey my outlook on life when asked, how are you doing today? I'm doing and that's a good thing.

My Dad was straight as a string, there was no BS, it was either right or wrong and I always said I'd never be like him. Guess what? That guy I see in the mirror is becoming his Dad.

I knew I was getting old about 10 years ago. My clue was...You see something that is falling and your brain says, catch it! However, your hand stays by your side!! I loved to long distance run until I was about 40 so the old ticker is in good shape. The doctor at the V.A. told me I have the heart of an 18 year old. I asked him what it would take to make other body parts that young!!!
