I see lots of EGW stuff on eBay, but from the pics it looks like they come with Allen head screws so they're not for me.

Certainly not looking for anything other than something I didn't realize so I'm curious. What's bad about allen screws? Thanks John

Too easy to strip/round out IMO, esp. if you try to remove one that's been loctited.

Well i get 3-4 a week of the regular and hd models and ive never got one with hex screws for remington, winchester, savage or tikka. The savage does come with a weird t10 size screw though. Egw is more than helpful if you wanted to check on a specific model

I'm not in the market for another Picatinny base at the moment.

Does anyone who makes a 7075 aluminum rail that is drilled for #6 screws for a factory rem 700? The ones I keep finding are drilled for #8’s.

The egw in question contains the 6-48 factory size screws. Its actually a rarity to find one for a remington with 8-40. I usually have to mill the bases for that conversion

The Leupold I mentioned earlier does both and comes with both size screws.

Seekins Precision, it also has a lip that drops down to act as a recoil lug.
