6.5 Sherman dies

would 6.5 06 ackley imp dies work for the 6.5 Sherman if it is based on the same case except a little longer? RW

I don't think so. The 6.5 Sherman has less taper than the 6.5 -06 A.I., so you'd be over sizing by using your die on fired cases and losing a bit of powder capacity.

The 6.5 Sherman is based on the .270 case, though I use .280 brass, because 06 necks are too short. I use a Whidden FL die.

I just got the new Hornady dies from Rich. Haven't used them yet as rifle is being put together

Rich is a super nice guy, always willing to share his knowledge and he's come up with some nice wildcats for long range hunting.

I shoot the l/a 6.5 Sherman and the the s/a 6.5 SS. Both sit on the front row of my safe because I love to shoot them.
