EDM actions

My Brother has a 50 BMG heavy rifle built on a single shot EDM action. I believe he told me it was called an SA1. Does this sound familiar to anyone who knows about early EDM products, and what can you tell me about them? I am guessing as a 50 cal, other long distance calibers in 375,408, and 416 would all fit this action? I am looking at buying it from him, or at least helping him sell it, and would like to know as much as I can find out. My searches for EDM all come back with the Windrunner M96. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

In all my searching on the net, I don't really know much more than when I posted earlier. I think the SA-99 suoerceded the SA-01 being a repeater action, Does this sound right to anyone? I checked out the FCSA but did not find anything with out having to hoin up first. Anybody here shoot the 50? I'd like to find out what we have.

You are correct about the association of EDM and Windrunner. - I've never seen a Windrunner rifle at any FCSA match. - This would lead me to believe that there are better products on the market for 50 cal. shooting. - I personally favor BAT, Barnard & McMillan for actions for the big'un's.

My brother did not buy an entire windrunner rifle, just the EDM action. He is a machinist and he and a co worker did their research on the action and both bought one. It has a 2"x36"Krieger barrel, chambered and threaded to the action by Krieger, back when they still did those things. He machined the muzzle brake himself, as well as the stock which is a single piece of aluminum. Not exactly a factory rifle! This was back when we would go to South Dakota every year, and he just built it to see how far it would shoot. Funny thing is, once he got it together, it was the last year all of us could head out. Marriage, kids, grandkids, not the best rifle to start them on. Thanks for getting back to me, I will forward all the info I can to him and see what we come up with.
