Best action wrench and barrel vise? (Panda)

What is the best rear entry action wrench for a panda? And where do i get it? Also, what is the best barrel vice?

Thanks

Which is better, T-handle or torque bar style. I probably would want to use a torque wrench, but correct me if that’s not necessary

PMA has their own brand and they sell the Viper. The only mechanical difference is the PMA allows you to hold thinner barrels. The Viper is supposed to non-marring. I have the Viper but still use leather strips. If you attach it to a block of wood you can lock it in your bench vise rather than bolting it to the bench.

Not sure if a rear entry action wrench will work with a Panda, but if it does that is the way I would go.

The vise I posted a link for will also hold small diameter barrels. I’ll let you in on a little secret. If you turn the top plate over it will clamp onto much smaller diameter barrels. Also, while on the subject of tee handle or torque wrench style, we sell about seven to ten to one in favor of tee handle. Then again, it depends on what types of rifles you’re working on.

But with a tee handle i cant tell when i get to the 102ft lbs my gunsmith told me to put on it!

I just bought a used T Handle from a member here. My wife unpacked it for me, she said '' hay this is bent and I would like to see the sungun that could bend this steel bar''. Are you going to send it back or straighten it?

;}

Stupid question. But because this is my first ppc. I was looking at pma action cleaning kit, but, can’t I just remove the barrel ever time I need to clean the lug area of the action? Or is that a no-no?

Just got the pMA action wrench and the viper barrel vice. Just torqued my new Krieger barrel on to the Kelbly's 150# advised spec with no problem at all.

That’s a no-no. Just run the action cleaner into the lug area and give it a twist.

The PMA action wrench and Viper barrel vice work well. I would recommend not storing the action wrench in the pouch that PMA sells. I pulled the action wrench out of this pouch after about a year of storage in an uncontrolled environment and found the un-coated, plain steel wrench to be significantly corroded. It was still usable but very pitted. After cleaning it up, now the wrench is stored in a sealable plastic bag with a good coating of WD-40 to displace water and then stored in the pouch.
