Mid Carolina Gun Club will be hosting the "Tack Driver Showdown" This will be a combination Group/Score match for ANY rifle under 338 no matter the weight. It will be a 300 Meter match trying to see what is "The most accurate" rifle/caliber at 300 Meters. This match will be limited to 120 guns and preregistration is REQUIRED. Huge CASH OPTION as well as CASH prizes. More details to follow in the upcoming weeks. I hope to see you there!

This will be sponsored by IBS and will be done under our rules, but you do not have to be a member of any sanctioning body to compete. I want to thank Jim Cline for stepping up and offering Mid-Carolina Gun Club for the inaugural Tack Driver. One item of import is that there will be TWO divisions Bolt and Gas. So the array of semiautos will see how they stack up against the bolt BR rifles, but compete in their own division. This is a work in progress, and we are working out the details. This is something TOTALLY new, so hang on.

All shooting from bench, either rests or bipod. But no return to battery or rail guns.

We envision short and long range BR rifles, F-Class, AR, other tactical, egg shoot rifles, whatever...not may rules. All IBS safety protocols will be enforced. Semiautos will need chamber flags, otherwise bolts out all all times.

My early discussions with those in the industry leads to me believe we will have lots of prizes too.

Thanks Cline, for pushing to get this show down started. I know that our President of IBS, Jeff stover, is excited. He has been asking for a match such as this for quite sometime. I know it was a big hit last year when Jeff showed up and actually shot at the Nationals at Mid-Carolina. Speaking on behalf of all the shooters present at that match, we found out that not only could Jeff hold his own shooting, but he actually is one of us. I had no clue that he had lived in GA and was a UGA Dawg.

Now, guess what shooters, since I happened to be present as this was going down, at that moment there’s only 119 spots available; LOL, and gonna work all year to have something ready for this historical event. Watch out for happy hour, they just might be some of that GA stump water brewing for a gathering of great shooters and friends. Warning to all who might attend; a lot of unforgettable memories have been made around these parts.

All 5 score and group targets will be shot at 300 meters. They will be alternated score/group/score. 5 targets the first day and 5 the second day after a bench rotation is the current plan. This is to create some excitement within our shooting family , no matter what organization or discipline you compete in regularly. We have enough people trying to take our guns and cause problems in the world right now. It's time we put our differences aside and come together and ENJOY a friendly competition with some of the best shooters in the nation. if you think you fit in that mold 11-14&15-2020 in Orangeburg ,SC is where you need to be! Who has the most accurate rifle? PRS? Long Range benchrest? Score? Group? F-Class? AR platform? your grandfathers hunting rifle?
