Women being more deliberative and intentional in their actions, and actually listening to instruction, often make better shooters than men. Male musculature is actually a hindrance to good shooting.

I've read somewhere on average women have steadier hands than men.

Perhaps those are the reasons, perhaps there are more too, but many female shooters kicked my butt in USPSA!

My wife went with me and shot in her first 600 Yard F-Class match at Whitehorse Range's Snowball Fun Match in WV over the weekend. On her very first target ever and first time ever shooting over 200 yards she shoots a 199-10X'S. After that relay she asked me how I deal with it when I shoot a 9??? Now most would think that would be a dig but it wasn't. She truly was upset when she shot a 9. She thought she should have cleaned her target and should do it every time. She had a little bit of a reality check on her second relay when she got into some switchy winds and still shot a 190-3X. As you would assume I was very proud of her and how well she shot.

She said she wants to go back and beat her scores!

I've created a monster!
This is a nice read, TY for sharing.

I assume this means you have to reload for 2 rifles...think carefully how to convince her that she can reload better than you and you'll not have to reload for her any more. --Jerry

I know your daughter is helping you in your shop and ours has started too. She actually annealed the brass, resized them, cleaned the primer pockets, brushed the necks, I had to prime them, then she weighed each powder charge and seated the bullets. The dies and annealer was set up so it was rinse and repeat. It was a team effort

That's one more sharp rifle. Great job on the rifle and teaching your wife how to shoot.

He said you bring that lady back to Whitehorse she shot great an had a lot of eyebrows raised,an between him an myself we will make her a champion an you can stay home an load her ammo, so you brining that little lady on back now ya here congrats to her.

Ha, I don’t think think she can chew tobacco like JC and smoke like you to keep up with you two guys.
She was nervous and said what if I shoot the wrong target. I reminded her that’s she’s a pretty little redhead and that she could shoot every ones target out there and no one would get mad at her.

Ok Zack, you can't be talking to any of my family members. I can barely afford this hobby for myself!
But seriously, congratulations to your wife, and I'm glad your family is participating in shooting sports.
We need more like them.

Haha, thanks Andy.
Thanks to so many members like you I can afford to keep building rifles for my family. Please don’t stop now I have 2 more children that will be needing rifles in a few years!

Thanks to memebers like @Bill Norris too for so many good references and posts for the Rifles we’ve built for him. This site is the only advertising that we do and even then it’s mostly word of mouth from members posting nice things. Much appreciated

Well deserved Bro. U do exceptional work and the quality stands out in everything I ve seen u turn out for me and some others as well. I'm very pleased to say I now own 3 rifles built by u and I'm very happy with all 3.

Anyone who goes shooting with you is not a monster. But with the female of the species get used to having the seat of your pants torn out. Don't ask how I know this. It makes for a close relationship with good banter more so if she is a daughter.
