6.5X47 bartlein new barrel question

strange question,
recently replaced a CBI button rifled barrel, 1-8, with a bartlein rifle cut barrel, 1-7.5, made for my savage model 12 target action in 6.5x47 lapua, no barrel nut, installed by a reputable gun smith, action to barrel,they did all the work.

But the new barrel shoots a full 12inchs higher at 200 yards, everything on the gun is the same parts reused, base(20 moa) ,scope ,stock,rings ect.
I actually cant lower the scopes moa's enought to zero at 200 yards anymore, witch is fine, I shoot at 600yds or 1000yds with this gun, the scopes moa's are actually set on 4 minutes for 600 yards now
thoughts? normal? just my luck

Get a 0 MOA scope base or a new scope with more MOA adjustment. Your scope must have a pretty limited vertical range.

yes changing the base would give me moa's down for sure to even it out
but the only thing changed from the old gun is the new barrel same scope as before sightron sii 10x50x60

That scope is limited.....I have a SV 10-50 and the main reason I went with the SV was it offered more vertical adjustment.
The offset of your bore (not sure that is the right term) of your new barrel probably just happened to get indexed in the up position which changed your POI to the high side.

yes I understand now, so this is a normal occurance it was just strange that no one I shoot with has ever seen this
i am always in the never heard of that group.

You could get a pair of burris signature XTR rings which has inserts to dial it in. I just out a new barrel on my Fclass 6x47L and it zero’d at 100 10 inches lower than the older barrel. I set my rings so that i am shorter than one rev off the bottom for 100 yard zero. That then is my free return to zero. Just dial to the bottom and then back up to 0 and i am good to go.

Oh and my scope has never moved in these inserts in 4 years.

I have a brand new set of the rings dstoenner mentioned if interested.....that would be an easy fix....
