Arizona State Palma Championship Results

CONGRATULATIONS TO SCOTT HARRIS, CHRISTINE HARRIS AND CURTIS BOHLMAN! It was a great weekend for shooting. Also a huge thank you to all competitors who came out for a great 3 day shoot. Thank you Mid and Nancy Tompkins for providing dinner for everyone Saturday. Thank you Jack Arnold and Scott Rovelli for running the show!

Congratulations to Scott and Christine for their respective wins! Scott must have ironed out the issues with his rifle! Good work Scott! And congratulations to Curtis Bohlman for his win in sling! Beating Oliver Milanovic is no easy task!

Not many FTR shooters but those that came were great competitors! Mostly High Masters which made for a great match. Congrats to Scott Harris for the win! Stephen Ireland is on a role! Congrats also to Justin Bertino for earning his High Master classification.

I agree, our local competition is pretty darn stout!

Great match, even in the rain in sunny AZ! Congratulations to Scott and Christine, y'all are going to have to build a trophy room. Congratulations to Justin, you shot like a mad man today, job well done! Stephen Ireland must have hit the high master ranks too! Congratulations!

Thanks guys, glad to join the FTR High Masters Long Range Class! Stephen Ireland shot amazing. I just want to emphasize, he was only 2 points down from 1st place in the end, and he cross fired on day 2! So his score reflects a miss and he still scored 3rd! He was on FIRE! Amazing shooting Stephen, even with a miss! ;) And I watched Keith Davis shoot clean all day on day 3, until his very very last shot came up a 9, couldn't believe it, always the last shot that gets ya!

Justin

Congrats to the winners, well done!

I'm also thinking, "Wow", look at the dogfight they had in F-TR, which was very closely contested, a real nail-biter. Interestingly, there is currently a thread going at another shooting forum where the question was posed, "Which is more important, 10s or Xs?" Obviously, there is no real answer to this question, only personal opinion. Nonetheless, the relative X-counts of the top three shooters in both Conventional and F-TR Divisions offer some food for thought.

That discussion may be more relevant if we were squadded together :(

My 2c is that an ok load in great hands will get points, but a low X count, while a great rifle/load in ok hands will have the opposite?
Contradicting this example, is that one shooter had both the highest x count and score, just not on the same target .
- But still matching my formula for great rifle/load in great hands!!
But it could be all luck :p j/k

You hit the nail on the head Nik!
