Benchrest 22 lr rifle ?

Doc, that is the thread that convinced me to try that chamber. it has been at least 5 years perhaps closer to 6 since I had my 1411 BM re-.I have not had any barrel done with any other chamber since, 5 barrels now.

I was glad to have looked at it again, there was a small bit info stated about his reamer and a barrel not to use it with, per his findings. I have one of those barrels from Shilen. Which is good to know in case I ever felt the need to backup the barrel.

I believe it was the Octagon-Shlien that he found to not perform as well. I have only a Rockcreek 5G done with that chamber and it shoots rather good. Bemchmark 3G have been the best performers so far

That pretty cool. Id like to have a bolt action 22 that hammered... 700 style, I like it... expensive though... Im still rocking the KIDD custom build...

I have had three 10/22’s that shot super well. But I really like bolt guns best. I have Gorham built Suhl 150 and a Myers prototype.

I am waiting on Howard Pitts to finish up on bedding the Myers

Been thinking about ordering a 3G. In fact I was on their site looking at contours.

My last 3G I ordered a 30" blank, told them I wanted a finish of 28" profile was 1.200 for 3" then radius to .850, I had the smith turn the 1.200 down to about 1.00 then he chambered it. I wanted the effect of opening up the bore at the chamber so when the bullet entered the bore it would be just slightly bigger in diameter. did it work, I am not sure but here are the very first 6-shots, and I mean very first shots no foulers brand new clean bore. I really like BM barrels

That is good right there! There has been something that I have been thinking about doing with the Myers, you just pointed me in the right direction quite possibly.

You will not be disappointed, and if you shoot Lapua mainly I highly recommend going with the Nevius chamber

I have a Nevius reamer ordered from JGS it’s been about 14 weeks I need to call them to see how much longer it will be.I also have 2 29”Kreiger HV blanks I bought those because of Mr. Nevius and his reamer.

Wow they must be backed up, my reamer took 8-weeks, if I remember correctly. sure would like to know how those Kreiger shoot when you are done, Kevin really likes them

yep, he told me that recently on the Kreigers, had an 8 groove several years back that would burn small holes in the dead calm....pretty worthless in the wind. I was unaware that they now taper lapped them.....learn someting every 8-10 years.

I will let y’all know as soon as I do.Lee I also bought a Harrell’s tuner that Evelio is gonna counter bore for me also and hopefully show me how to use it. I can’t wait to get my action so I can get started on it until then I will shoot my vudoo repeater with the single shot follower in it.
