I am wanting to order a Harrell's bushing FL size die for a factory chamber. With out already owning a die is there any tricks out there to figure out how to get them 3 fired cases?

Thanks, I'll give that a try.Very simple answer
Load virgin brass with 28 gr of Varget, stuff a 100% cotton ball in the neck , fire and repeat 3 times
They need to be fired 3 times and only neck sized between firings to ensure the case is fully formed. This can be done by tapping a correct size bushing on the neck just enough to hold the bullet as Mark W stated. If u need to send them 3 fired cases why would u need a die? Just shoot them and send them.
Great idea. Thanks.I’ve used a bullet by lightly tapping a bushing onto the neck and sizing just enough to hold the bullet in place. I trusted that this expanded the case more realistically than the cotton ball trick. You’re mileage may vary.
All the OP has to do call an order a BR-3 an he's good to go.Just order one in the mid range. Use it and see how it works. Send it back or sell it if you need more sizing. Its not like theyre actually making a die from your brass all theyre doing is matching it up with one of 3-4 dies they have on the shelf
Ive been getting hard bolt lift with even mild loads. I sent Harrell's my brass and they sent me a B1. It sizes .0005 smaller than my Redding at the .200 line and I am now shooting 30 grains varget no problem. Who would of though .0005 would matter. What's a B1. Tighter or looser? Mike
This has been my experience also..All the OP has to do call an order a BR-3 an he's good to go.
