Benchrest 22 lr rifle ?

Please someone explain why the 2500x,

The BR action is very close to being released and you can contact Paul or Jill at Vudoo and get on the list.

For a DIY shooter, the 2500X is a good choice from what I heard. does Vudoo sell just the action?

What will be the price point on the new Vudoo BR rifle?

Lee

Lee,I believe and it’s my understanding you will be able to buy just the action and later on they will offer barreled actions. I don’t know the price point but I’m sure it will be in the ballpark of other single shot actions.

They may do that I honestly have no idea..when I called Paul a few weeks back all I wanted to do is get in line for one and all we discussed was release date I didn’t even ask about the price or if they were going to offer barreled actions. Thanks to you I have a guy that’s gonna chamber it for me close to home.

i believe that is a solid MAYBE. I know they are aware of BR barrel quality requirements and potentially investigating potential barrel makers as well as trying to evaluate potential demand for barreled actions.
There have been a couple pretty good threads over on Rimfire Accuracy and Mike Bush has some informative posts.

Now I have a question for anybody familiar with these actions.
I am aware of the parentage here and that they are shortened with a reliable feeding system on the repeaters.
Are there any developments in the ignitions system, etc. that are materially different from the 40X other than obviously shorter ? I would assume barrel tenon requirements are similar as well ?

Tim are you asking about the ignition system for the single shot action or repeater? I would probably ask Mike but he may not let that information out just yet either way I hope he gets it right like he has the repeater.

@Tim s .... I checked the Turbo V1 I just bought.... it has the curved 6 o'clock firing pin that I've heard good things about.

That the ignition system improvements yer talking about?

No, ignition system as in entire fire mechanism within the bolt.
Anthony is now sending them out with that as the factory pin setup ?
Did he say anything at all about spring rates or playing with springs at all ?
I would make sure you have a pretty thorough discussion on spring rates with this setup with Langley, this is new(ish) and there is a fair amount of dialog about what’s the right combo to drive this thing because of the bigger footprint.
Were I you, I’d make sure you get a bolt disassembly tool which you should have for cleaning/maintainence and a couple different springs to possibly play around with, swapping them out takes about 5 minutes.

Bp1 I would assume they would be the same.
Although I have gotten to know him, I did not want to impose that question since I do not own one since my sole interest here is BR.
I figured somebody has broken one done and maybe has an opinion.

Tim I haven’t taken mine apart yet I have played with the snap caps and it seemed to be striking them at 12 o’clock. I don’t have the experience or knowledge of what the difference between any of them would be I leave that stuff up to the folks that build them. I myself want the single shot for rimfire f/class and I will shoot some br matches with it hell who knows I may get hooked into the RF br game.

thanks. You should learn to do that, you would be surprised how much crap a rimfire bolt can accumulate, it is good to keep everything clean and running well.

Taking the bolt, trigger, apart & changing barrels is pretty simple stuff I have no problem doing any of that.

Lee,
What is the primary difference with Kev’s chamber and the Calfee spec ones.
I used to know but cannot bring it to mind.

Tim,

I believe main difference is leade angle Calfee II is 2-degree and Kevin's is 1.5 degree
I am pretty sure depth before the leade is the same at .600 Kevin explained that the JGS reamer named after him is the Myer's 1.5 design, JGS ask for a name since Kevin ask that the stop be removed from the reamer, thus making a new design.
otherwise any smith with a Myer's 1.5 with the stop removed can cut this chamber. Evelio McDonald who I reference to has done 3- barrels for me using the Myer's reamer.
I have 2 barrels using the JGS Nevius reamer done and they shoot the same with Lapua.

Lee

Thanks Lee.
I’d be willing to bet, not many use a stop anyways these days.
Gordon cuts what I’d call a “mid depth” chamber on my guns and about the same for the one Penrod rig I have with a Muller 4. Eck just fit a Muller 5 on that gun and what little I shot it before the snow, fouling looks about the same, we’ll see come spring.
Nice thing about those is that they handle short/long stuff OK and last year I shot only Lapua and throats were fine for a whole card plus.
