Wife bought me one of those 50 buck Amazon specials for Christmas. Got a hawk eye borrowed from my shooting partner but it's the straight eye piece and you can't get down far enough to see because of the high stocks on my rifles to see the chamber and it's too short to use from the muzzle. Held off on buying a 90° eye piece till I see how this cheapie works. Let you know after Christmas....

This is the same area as the 1st snap, would you think it's a carbon ring?

I would agree that is a light layer of carbon flaking off in places.

Now feast your eyes on some serious carbon buildup. This is a pulled and scrapped barrel of mine. Picture one shows layers of thick carbon buildup. The other photo is the same barrel after a JB bore paste soaked bore mop was rotated with a drill motor. Most carbon removed with no real harm to the steel.

Trust me, you will love it. Getting the mirror adjusted properly for each bore diameter is the trick for excellent views. If mine died today, I would order another immediately.

After I bought my Hawkeye Borescope several years ago I realized almost immediately that the 90 degree eyepiece was a necessity to comfortably and precisely use their borescope.

Rechambered? :) Definitely not. This was a stock Remington CM 24" .260 with 3100 shots fired.

Focus the mirror to the barrel and adjust the light,... then capture a couple better pictures and post them.

If you haven't used a bore-scope before, clean a few barrels using it in conjunction, before you get to excited about anything. Likely to answer your own questions with a little experience.
