I realize that everyone knows of the procedure, so please explain what the process is so I can do it properly.

One version is: 2 patches wet with Kroil, then somewhat worn brush wrapped with patch, coated with plenty JB, and short-stroked full length, paying attention to any rough- feeling areas, followed by several sopping wet patches with Kroil to get All the JB out, followed by 2 dry patches. Caveat: ensure all JB removed from bore guide Before final flushing with kroil, else you are just re-contaminating. VFG pellets are an improvement over the wrapped brush. Any remaining pesky copper streaks can typically be removed using same method with some Witches Brew instead of JB. Seymour

Use nylon brushes.
Put jb on it wet a bit with any cleaner. I use #9.
I short stroke the first 6-10". Push a wet patch. Have something to catch the slop dripping off the muzzel.
Do it a bunch .. That's about it.

I might consider using it on a factory barrel but I don't want that stuff anyplace close to one of my good barrels.

I use Iosso on a patch with hoppes rubbed in with a jag. I do the throat area and about 2-3 inches forward about every 200 - 300 rounds.

I've done the JB/Kroil treatment on a few rifles. When I do it I make a slurry of JB and Kroil and put it on a patch and give the barrel several strokes then a Kroil douche with a patch(s) saturated with Kroil. A few years back I got an old 722 Remington that had been somebody's bench gun at one time. I used C-4 carbon remover, Sweets and the JB/Kroil treatment followed by a thorough flush out with sopping wet Kroil patches and it is very close to a quarter inch gun or better with very little load development.

Of course the pellets that I want in .25 caliber are on back order! I shot control groups today and wanted to get started on my project. Will have to cool my heals.
